Cutter realized that he was walking into perpetual mediocrity. Starting to respect him more and more for realizing he didn't want any part of a shit show run by doorknobs.
A college kid who is 19 figured out the workings of the nhl! Love it.

i really don't think it's that bad of a deal. the NTC is totally unnecessary, yes, and i'd prefer it to be one year shorter, but honestly? After the truly awful 3rd pairing d-men this team has had over the past decade+? Extending Nick Seeler to a 4x2.7 isn't going to piss me off right now.

I'm not saying its great, i'm just saying its not as bad as you think. As far as blocking players...do we have that many nhl capable defensemen in the system right now that he's blocking in the next two years? They've repeatedly mentioned how Drysdale was rushed when he was brought in by Anaheim...are they gonna do that with Bonk? Andrae looked nowhere near ready for the physicality of the nhl in the preseason. Ginning and Attard are placeholders.

If he were younger and likely to still be good if/when they turn the corner..I would agree. I don't see him holding up into 2026 and beyond. Probably looking at Nick Schultz 2.0 at that point.

It doesn't take a world-traveled sage to accurately gauge NHL franchises.
Plus the other 10 teams he said he wouldn’t be traded to? The kid is a star, which I believe is possible, along with being a savvy gm/owner!

So you believe he felt the team was in great hands under Mr. Chuck Fletcher, when he was “born to be a Flyer”?

Every drafted player is born to play for that team on draft day, in basically every sport

What’s the Ava per year? I heard 3.5 yesterday.

So he knew at the draft he was leaving the flyers in 2 years? And he was setting them up to go 1-3 picks higher?

I think you're overthinking this. Maybe he did. Maybe he changed his mind when they hired Tortorella and went further off the deep end. Maybe something else made him decide enough was enough.

No matter how you slice it, nothing this team has done in his lifetime has bought them any leeway or benefit of the doubt. We are one of several teams in that boat. It truly isn't difficult to judge effectiveness of an NHL franchise.

So basically, in your opinion, he used the flyers to go 1-3 picks higher? As he already judged that the team was ineffective as a franchise?

Schultz, from what I remember, was ok......except that he couldn't lift his arm above his chest.

I don't know. I'm so discouraged by everything this team does I don't really give a f*** anymore. f*** these idiots. Can they balance a checkbook? If I ran my own finances like this team is run I'd be in trouble.

Really isn't the worst thing in the world as we aren't going to be in a cap crunch and our defensive prospects aren't really any better. Gave it a D for being too long. I never care about NTCs so that doesn't bother me but it just seems like we should have traded him that's really the only reason it got a D.
