Pardon my ignorance but if the OHL starts up does he have to go back or is he past whatever requirements and can play in the AHL?

Looks to me the pecking order is pretty deep. This kid may get a look see 2022-2024. Unless there is a physical side to his game(Tye Domi comes to mind), I don't see him cracking this lineup any time soon.

Nobody thought Marchand would become as good as he did so you never know. I'm very high on him. He could become as good as Marchand but as a different player and that's my honest guess. Probably in the range of Gallagher to Marchand, but like Marchand his work ethic seems among the best from what I've heard. I say he peaks late and eventually becomes as good as Marchand is today.
It depends how much warrior he has in him. I don’t think he’s even gotten his feet wet yet. He’s the kind of shooter that can shoot from the same place on the powerplay and still score. It’s not Ohl anymore so he has to get it off faster.
I think he will find a nhl game and these injuries have set him back as some posters have mentioned. He was playing well with the Marlies.
I hope Dubas doesn’t move him in a trade.

Hard to say what level he'll reach but for me, one of the most important things to me is work ethic and motor. I remember the 2006 Memorial Cup, I got to attend every game. Featured players like Yandle, Bourdon, Staal, Downie, Vlasic, Esposito, Radulov, Franson, Brule, Lucic. I remember saying to my father at the time that Marchand was the best player there. Not most talented but he was the one guy you noticed every single time he was on the ice. For me it is always hard to ignore motor like that. Hard work beats talent that doesn't work hard.

I like Robertson.

In my opinion, our fan base has pumped him up to more than he is. He is a middle six winger that would need sheltering.

He ideally plays with a pass first, playmaking centre who is also defensively responsible. I think he can contribute on the PP.

I could see him scoring 20 to 25 goals at his peak.

I like Robertson. But I feel like he's too similar to the elements we already have on the wing in the top 6. It's the same feeling I had with Kapanen.

He'll be traded before he can make a real impact in Toronto. Hope he succeeds wherever he ends up, and I hope the guy we get in return helps us win a Cup.

when you couple that with the other scorers on this team, that would be great. And I don’t think peak is the right word. With that release I expected him to avg 20-25 per

Robertson and Kapanen are different to one another

whatever you think of his potential, he's at the point where he should be getting a chance, even on a top 10 team like this. I can't believe he doesn't bring more to the table than Vesey or Barabanov, at bare minimum.

He likely does, but why are we burning our contract advantage with him for him to slum it on the 4th line in a minimal role, especially when he can play top line AHL minutes which is the perfect situation for him right now.

If we need Robertson, then we will give him a legit top 6 role.

He has been injured and hasn't played since March 3rd.

Had he continued his scoring pace and was healthy, we may have already seen him.

I think I agree but we will be thrilled with whome ever he pulled in that deal. I believe Dubas likes this guy alot. I'm from Peterborough I heard he knows he's small he was told he won't make it. So he will give it an honest go I believe his motivation level is fantastic. From what I heard he works hard off the ice. Seems he has brothers as well so he's always had better then average people to challenge him.

He might overtrain, and quite a lot. He seems obsessed to make it, and I love that. But that injury along the boards really didn't look like all that much and now he has an abdominal strain.

It wouldn't surprise me at all, to hear that after all the official, observed training is done, that he goes somewhere, and knocks off another two hour strenuous workout.

There is something about him, that I don't see very good or great about him. An awkwardness of sorts, handling the puck.

But his desire is unmistakeable. I would like to keep him.

Unless we land a great number one goalie somehow, I wouldn't trade anything other than this new Russian kid we drafted.

Homegrow your team properly, becomes a family type thing. I want to see how this guy evolves Here.

Height 5.09 -- Weight 164

A boy playing among men is not going to stay healthy in this league unless he puts on some size.

Well said. And to compare anyone, in our org to this massive star, Marchand, is, well, a bit, of a reach.

I never saw Marchand becoming this good, heck, Tyler Seguin himself, said to a Brampton buddy, he cannot believe how Marchand has grown and evolved and ascended.

He is better than Tyler himself now, who, has calmed down and is trying to just carve out a huge NHL career.

Crazy that they let Chara go. Weird too. Lotta things still don't make sense or cents to me.

How do you let Chara go for league min? How does Dubas not grab him and over more than Washington? I dunno.

Marchand, might be the most surprising guy for me of the last ten years in the NHL.

I don't think I saw anyone in the internet predict this kind of success for the guy. Heck, him, Pasternak and Bergeron were never expected to be this good.

They are comparable to the best lines in NHL history and Pasternak has a hip surgery which pretty well finishes any pro athlete off, and the freak, still performs.

Crazy ass line for the Bruins. Am I jealous, no. But something close.

no reason to call him up. with the flat cap for the next projected 4 years. 3 of those years with Robertson on ELC will be more helpful than anything. I mean maybe we call him up for a view and if hes good enough to make it worth burning a year... Im sure they will

46 games 55 goals 86 points last year in the OHL. Yeah we are just loaded with guys with that kind of potential.
