This is stupid, it should have been Bedard from last year, what a pathetic clueless management…

I know I'm making the mistake of reading a post by that user but not everyone has to be Toews (who also said in retrospect he was probably not ready when he was made captain). Bedard only just turned 19 two months ago and the team is going to suck balls again this year. Foligno is much better positioned to wear the C in these circumstances

Great move, when Connor Bedard is ready it will be his team to be a Captain of. Nick showed last year why he is a C. Happy to hear this news.

I would rather be without C until Bedard or other youngling was ready to carry it.

If team had to have C then Foligno is best option but if our team is slightly better then Foligno can't be much worst than he was last season or our new C is eating popcorn.

Am I reading this right, you wanted us to give Bedard the C last year in his rookie season as an 18yo?!?

Giving any rookie the C is clueless. Back to your cave.

An 18 year old rookie nonetheless.

Toews wasn’t much older, tf you geniuses talking about as if it’s something that has never happened before in the history of the sport lol, this management is clueless, less clueless than Stan the Man but pretty close on the stupidity index.

Name me the last 18yo rookie who was named captain of an NHL team.

Toews, captain Canada, is the exception not the rule.

For the record:
The youngest permanent NHL captain in history is Connor McDavid, announced as captain by the Edmonton Oilers on October 5, 2016, at the age of 19 years and 266 days. Player is still active as captain of their team.

The player who may go down in history as the best forward to ever play in the NHL.
