You do not really welcome that discussion as you cannot accept Virgilio, Brauti, Doherty, Chenowsky, Wray as 2-3 season additions that greatly increase the odds of the 2007-08 having success.
So it’s pretty clear, we can count the number of IceDogs games you have watched on 2 or 3 fingers and your knowledge meter close to a 2.

Perhaps, discuss issues of long term concern regarding your OWN team and allow IceDog fan who have far more merit, credibility and have been following this team since training camp their own discussion.

It’s pretty clear that you have no desire to have a discussion, just an agenda to promote.

Do you mean looking for a swing for the fences experienced OHL F that will cost a lot of draft capital? I.e. 05’s like McCue, Pinelli, Foster, Romani (just looking at 05’s on selling teams) or more like 2nd-3rd line level guys? I.E. guys like Marco Mignosa or Justin Cloutier from the Soo? (Showing bias to R shot RW)
I’d be looking for an 06-07 not an 05 unless an 05 is leaving in the process

…from a guy who has avoided answering ANY relevant questions regarding the IceDogs, this is absolutely hilarious! Wow! Keep Trolling! And continue embarrassing yourself with your lack of IceDogs’ knowledge.

There is only one player on our team that fills the draft pick jar for later runs and that is Kevin He. Do we assure ourselves of a playoff position this year and trade him at the deadline next year for picks or do we trade him for a 2008 and picks this year (while he is hot and has great numbers) and keep picks for a Memorial Cup bid. We only have 1 more year of Kevin He so he will be gone for the year we bid.
Trading Kevin He becomes a serious discussion this year and next year. Tomasino’s return a year early was massive. The stumbling block to that type of astute long range planning is DD is fixated on simply making the playoffs each year for additional revenue and pay his bills. I would be pleasantly shocked if he demonstrated some Long range championship planning

‘IceDogs knowledge’ has absolutely nothing to do with believing Brauti and Virgilio are better for the IceDogs than Frolov and a few picks over 2-3 seasons. But if you must, continue slanderous remarks against any post that does not promote your agenda rather than participate in a discussion of what makes actually makes the IceDogs a better on ice team.

Ever since the end of preseason, DD has been busy looking to add an experienced OHL F. Darren has some options available, just a matter of what he wants to do with his draft cupboard now.
Are you saying that DD is breaking the OHL sanctions against him and still managing the team?
I'm sure the OHL would love to know more about this.

Still won’t answer the “relevant” question regarding those players from a previous post LOL!!! OMG You are hilarious.

I probably did answer those questions a couple of times, but they just did not jive with the agenda you promote.

100 percent. He has messed up several times on air interviews and in person. How he has not been flagged has many surprised by this too. There were times I was shocked to hear what he and others in and outside the organization have said. I didn’t clip them or record them but they are out there or destroyed now.

Trouble is you can’t get a return like Tomasino anymore they change the rules He stays this year don’t know about next season.

Sorry, but the IceDogs are no where near the top team in the East. There are a minimum of 4 teams (Brampton, Brantford, Barrie, Oshawa and most likely Kingston too) considerably stronger than Niagara.

And please, respectfully, there is no need to tell me what to do or post. Instead, you can utilize the ignore option available. Who and what you read on HF is your decision to make.

I would never put you on ignore. You are entitled to your opinion and I will read it.

Two years ago on the old board, people like you (maybe you were there) were posting “OMG, DD traded away all our picks and we are doomed forever”. Somehow with all his wacky trading he got a bunch of picks back and spent them again. Then we ended up with this excellent team.

My point, the picks seem like currency that comes and goes. So I won’t get all stressed about it anymore.

Let’s see what happens.

Go Dogs!

It easy to say it but much more difficult to do. Curious, how would you go about recouping picks for championship run next year?

Carson Rehkopf return in his 19 year old year was: 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 7th

It does make you wonder what Kevin He in his 18 yr old year might return.

Tomasino in his 18 year old year was: 6 x 2nd; 3rd, 4th, 4th

I could be wrong but I don’t think he meant it the way you took

I meant we currently have the top team in the Conference standings.

Also, we are far enough into the season it’s not just a fluke. These guys are good and well motivated. I fully expect we will remain near the top of the Conference when it’s all over. Clearly a bunch of injuries could change all that.

What’s the largest change you have seen occur to be a winning team?
A little too early in the season to call them a winning team, however, to answer your question IceDogs have been able to get off to a surprisingly good start as result of outstanding goaltending, impressive goal scoring from a few high-end players, and solid coaching. In order to sustain season long success, they need secondary scoring very soon and improved play from several of their D. Brauti and Wysick have been consistent and good but the rest need to match their level of play otherwise this will be an area of weakness

I mean NVV leads the team in +/- and Blair Scott is tied for 2nd in +/-which is exactly what you want/expect from defensive defenseman so those 2 have been really solid (I know you have admitted to not being a NVV fan). Those 2 do need to stay out of the penalty box though. Virgilio and Cheynowski need to step it up though defensively.

If the IceDogs are looking to add a F I feel like the obvious fit is to just sign Jaden Flora. IceDogs have already drafted him so no draft capital loss, he’s 6 foot and a RW and shoots R which are all things the IceDogs need and he had a good training camp with the IceDogs too. He has 15 points (7G 8A) in 18 games with Buffalo Jr. Sabres in the OJHL and he’s from St. Catharines. Unless there is a behind the scenes reason that he doesn’t want sign, get it done.
I know I literally said don’t trade a mid pick when you can sign Flora who is a RW R shot which IMO if they make a trade it has to be for a RW R shot but, someone like Ethan Weir from Kingston would be an interesting get. 2007 2nd round pick played 2 years with Roobroeck with Jr Knights and hasn’t really got a shot with the Fronts and is stuck behind Heyes Uronen and Soto. Really could use a fresh start and could probably get him for like a 6th round pick. I feel like those are the moves to make this year, The low draft capital trades that don’t cost any 2-4 round picks but improve the team for the next couple years. If you can get a good 05 that you know will play as an OA that would be okay as long as it’s not a crazy price tag. Classic me just being fan GM but Doherty is our only R shot forward until Paris is back (not including Hotles).

You can get the return but it won't be just picks. This is where your scouting has to prove itself useful. Our scouts should be scouting other top teams, particularly Barrie because Marty will trade young players, to find an opportunity to trade for an 08 first rounder that isn't finding ice time and some picks. Example of this is trading Pietrangelo, for Ryan Strome and picks (other players were included going both ways).
