What is this? Nothing to see here, just a good ol' Canadian boy making a strong Hockey play.

But it's only one time, so not a big deal. Not like he has a bizarre fetish with other men's nuts or anything.

That bure hit and then cross check on Marchment was fantastic. Marchment had gone after his knees multiple times before Bure just said f*** it, left the puck and laid that dirty puke out

Messier Crosscheck to Jonsson's Face:

Messier Elbow on Vladimir Kovin:

Messier Headshot on Modano:

Hot damn, that first video is so damning. There's one particular elbow where the guy fell and is on his knees trying to get up, and Messier sees it and extends the elbow to hammer him in that vulnerable position. My God what an absolute Piece of Shit.

The answer to this question, as some have mentioned, is Scott Stevens, who always targeted the head.

Back when the Rangers played the Kings in the finals, I remember everyone calling Doughty "The Lumberjack". I don't watch the Kings much, so I don't know if that's his typical style or if it was a one-off from that series, but I despised him during it.

Did Bertuzzi have a history other than that one hit? I mean, I'm not saying it's by anyway forgivable but I don't remember him having a long history, could be wrong.
i remember he got 10 games for leaving the bench to join a fight against colorado a few seasons prior to the steve moore incident.

the steve moore incident is dirty enough to land him on the list by itself. one of the dirtiest and most cowardly acts in somewhat recent history.

Didn't read all the pages but I'm surprised Craig MuKNEE...err, Muni isn't mentioned on every post. Injured like a dozen guys with dirty hits. Not even debatable ones either.

I dont believe either one of them was suspended for on-ice conduct; same can not be said about Ruutu.
He got suspended for the bite, although it was questionable what was done to provoke it. I don't think it was quite like a Luis Suarez situation.

Surprised nobody has mentioned Pronger yet. That Dean McAmmond cheapshot was brutal.

Looking back Dean McAmmond has been on the other side of some real ugly cheap shots.
That incident was one of the most egregious under-punishments for an awful hit ever in the NHL. Dude should've been gone for the series.

Honestly, as a Blues fan, Steve Ott deserves a place on this list as well. Dirty little rat cheapshot artist as a player, I'm ashamed that he's a coach for us.

Ott once instigated a Capitals player (I forget who) into dropping his gloves. I think it was a young player. Ott just stood there laughing as the refs called an instigator penalty against the Capitals. That was frustrating to watch but also pretty hilarious.

Of course, I've seen that exact same thing play out in other circumstances and the refs called nothing or evened it up somehow. Frankly, I think they had the Ott call right - and that would be fine if it were consistent.
