As usual, @cwede proves to be a friend to us all, well informed and on the case.

That said, the fine print you have to look at is to what extent are in market telecasts blacked out.

Me, don't have a knowledgeable opinion here.
I do Fubo which gets MSG

would like to see Dolan make each msg team available directly, not only in a package

but that is another discussion for another time

Will previous users of nhl.tv receive an notice from either espn+ or nhl.tv regarding the changes? It would seem good business practice to do so at some point in early September. Does anyone know if single team packages will be available?

Anyone heard about pricing? How much more would disney+, which includes espn+, be than a straight espn+ package?

This has become a topic among hockey fans I know over the last few days. It seems as if we are operating in an information dead zone here. We know the change is happening but the specifics are the great unknown.

How do you get ALL Rangers games? Amazing this actually a puzzle. Have Spectrum in CT. Have three MSG Networks yet for some reason i don’t have MSG2 where sometimes they stick the Rangers when the Knicks are playing.

Anybody know? Ty

I pay $60 per year for ESPN plus but I believe my price is a little lower to being a subscriber for a long time. Looks like they advertise $7 per month or $70 per year. There's a bundle with Disney Plus and Hulu for $14 per month.

https://plus.espn.com/

I have never known them to offer micro packages--like something centered around just one team. The reality is the package is cheaper than pretty much anything out there from a specific league, and you get so much content for the price I've never even looked into it.

So, if you have ESPN and ESPN+ you're pretty much set if you live out of market (like I do in FL)?
You should be able to watch the majority of the games on espn plus. Turner sports is involved too. So TNT will have some of the games but I believe that’s just for the first 2 rounds of the playoffs.

I believe there is also a bundle available to get Hulu, Disney +, and ESPN +

Think it’s a really good package deal. I’m not ashamed to say rewatching some old Disney afternoon cartoons like Tale Spin, lol.

I subscribe(d) to NHL.TV. Traditionally I received auto renewal notices with information about 2 weeks before the start of preseason. So, nothing so far with anything about the upcoming season.

I know. I was replying to the OP's question and criticism of the league not notifying customers of upcoming change. At least have the courtesy to tell people the product and service have ended and alert of the transition to ESPN+. I think the league will, since there's dollars at stake, but it will be the requisite 2 weeks notice before preseason.

This is from a Sporting News article back in April, for the U.S.: ESPN networks will air 25 exclusive national regular-season games on ABC or ESPN. They will also stream 75 national regular-season games per season on ESPN+ and Hulu.
Turner Sports will air 72 regular-season games with streaming across WarnerMedia, including HBO Max.
Where can I watch the Stanley Cup playoffs?

ESPN and TNT will split the Stanley Cup playoffs' first three rounds, with four of the next seven (beginning in 2022) Stanley Cup Finals airing on ABC.
On the Turner Sports side, TNT and TBS will serve as the home of half of the Stanley Cup playoffs each year and TNT will be the home of three Stanley Cup Finals.
Who will air the Winter Classics, NHL All-Star Games?

When the deals were announced, ESPN noted that the network will not only have coverage of opening night games but will be the home of NHL All-Star Weekend. TNT will have the Winter Classics that are normally played on New Year's Day.

"Where's the game tonight?" will be such a trope this upcoming season.

Bit skeptical of the way it is being billed "access more than 1,000 out-of-market NHL games and 75 exclusive games per season" vs nhl.tv's old, "access every out of market game."

Maybe I'm being paranoid. But will probably go with Center Ice this year until some actual review of ESPN+ start coming in.

They can’t say every game bc Turner sports will have the rights to some of the games.

I had NHL.tv for 4-5 years and they would send an email about the card on file being charged by a certain date if you didn't cancel. The NHL never had much communication with their customers. Usually it was about money.

The NHL did put their notice on the website. A few weeks ago, I was checked the NHL website on my phone and the ESPN+ pop up ad came up saying ESPN+ was now the home of the NHL. It did explain what was going on.

I posted about the prices on ESPN+ before the increase. I hope some of you were able to take advantage and asave a few bucks.
