On paper, PLD has all the tools to be a top 6C offensive, physical center. However, the toolbox has some screws that are a bit loose.

He's played for teams with respected GMs, coaches, and teammates, but no one can get him to play the way he needs to. I will never forget his shift with the Blue Jackets just standing on the ice doing nothing and Tortorella blowing a fuse and benching him. He's a "me" player and doesn't play for the team.

If the Bruins want to take a chance on a center with retention, I would rather they look at Kuznetsov, but I have a feeling the whole PLD/Ullmark rumor is just names being thrown out there by GMs during conversations.

I watched most of his Jr career live and he could score big goals and had size but he was never that big heavy presence people here seem to think he is or want.Guess it's just not shocking to me he is same player minus as many goals.

I would of liked to see another year or two added to Wotherspoon's deal but glad to see he's part of the plan here moving forward.
He deserves it to.

I know I'm gonna get thrown into the fire but If Donny can swing pld for ullmark and get raanta from waivers as backup for sway ( not sure how with all that cap stuff) would that be real bad? Pld is 25 years old full of talent possible setting a 1 and 2 for years to come with him and zacha.

For those casually reading, the PLD stuff I dont think has ANY traction.
We are just bored and it was mentioned.
So put the guns away please...
Exactly it was a random nobody that brought up PLD and this board ran with it.

It’s more likely Phillip Danault closer contact wise Yes he has a 10 team NMC but doubt Boston would be on it..

Or possibly other smaller contracts that add up Alex Turcotte, Cam Talbot or even add Matt Roy and draft pick ? as another option

Anyways in no way I believe it’ll be PLD if it’s Ullmark going to the Kings

Yeah I don’t know is she pretty knowledgeable or in the loop.
She was on NHL radio yesterday and broke the Wenneberg to Rangers trade and she said she tripled checked if it was for real, because this time of year there's so many misleading info put out there by everyone, a lot of false messages and concocted info by teams going on in an attempt to try to better their position on certain players and they'll us the media for that.

So I'm thinking she truly does her home-work before she hits send. lol

Hopefully comes with boxing lessons. Very happy about this, I like Wotherspoon a lot.
Not only that, but this is the type of deal you give to a guy like this in this kind of role. Probably could have committed a little more in all honestly and I would have applauded that too.

The $9M to Forbort? Hopefully this is showing that Sweeney has learned from that mistake.

I think you can criticize a lot of sweeneys moves early on, but it appears he keeps on learning from them and getting better...that said we will see how true that is this offseason when he has a lot of cash to spend

All this trading ullmark for pld sid Crosby for the farm is making my head hurt. Just get ryan jo from flyers with salary retained for oscar steen and end this .
Colorado got rid of Ryan Johansen because the players started souring on him for the last two weeks. It's probably a reason why the Flyers also immediately waived him.
