Reading between the lines they are blaming Team USA's team doctors, no?

Turning a minor injury to an infection and a major injury.
Medicine isn't an exact science. Unless they can show some mistreatment, I don't see anything.

I just can’t see how a shoulder injury gets infected that quickly. He was with team USA for less than a week pre injury? Maybe some kind of cut that made it get infected. Seems like an odd spot for an infection IMO

I was thinking this too. Unless they operated on him or otherwise cut into him, I'm unclear how the injury would have become infected and needed a debreeding surgical procedure? I mean did they wrap him with a moldy ace bandage? Something seems fishy. And reading between the lines, it does seem Boston is less than thrilled with Team USA Medical. Won't say it out loud, but the callout was, um, interesting.

Sad news about Lange even though he drove me nuts. The McAvoy thing is just unfortunate. Hard to figure quite what happened there.

Can we just keep politics out of hockey... please for the love of dog.
Uh… no?

If we want to agree to keep them off the boards that’s a separate discussion but there’s no real history of this sport without plenty of politics and this is a phone call from a world leader we’re talking about, how do you make that apolitical?

Miracle on Ice had a touch of politics to it, right? I find calls to keep politics out of sports frustrating when so many significant moments happen as a result of crossing those lines. Plenty of powerful Olympic moments come to mind, historic photos defying racial inequality, unlikely friends coming together… it’s all politics and it always has been. I think stifling that action and subsequent discourse is arguably irresponsible.

I’m slightly nervous….Canada will be up for revenge…..getting smacked in the mouth early works out sometimes.
Canada has jumped out 2-0 after 13 minutes, 1-0 after 6 minutes, 3-0 after 13 minutes, then been outplayed the rest of each game. So it is about withstanding what they've got early.

Dirty needle for McAvoy? Blood poisoning? Glad it isn't one of ours.

Also, given this interview by Hanifin, I'm hoping Canada dominates this game.

Noahn Hanifin : « Nous voulons gagner pour notre pays et pour Trump »

I think this needle theory is probably the right answer, though it's possible for an injury to turn into an infection on it's own...I just don't know how.

"Ow, shoulder hurts like hell."
"You want something for the pain or do you want to sit out the rest of the tournament?"
"Give me the jab, m8"

Hilarity did not ensue.

Go USA!

Kyle Connor scratched. What a bum. WPG should trade him to the Caps while they still can.

Noted goon Mitch Marner gonna drop 'em off the faceoff.
