Letang just falling on his ass backwards giving up a breakaway and he just buried his face in the ice was my favorite part.
lol Letang just laying around looking like a scrambled egg, Malkin blowing everything Karlsson worked for while also just sliding out of play on a massively blown tire, and then Crosby so fervently gesturing (and probably yelling) that he's coming off no matter what and not back checking only for his guy to get extra seconds and set up the OT winner.

That was... ooooooh, just a chef's kiss right there.

Stupid imho, but if they do bring back the SE Division. Metro experiment old now.
Make Atlanta Skate Again

I loved the Thrashers. They had a cool look, I f***ing loved the time they did that asymmetrical home jersey
Thrashers05.png

and while they were direct competitors it was hard to hate them. Some great games, some amazing fights, both with us and others. I loved the Erskine/Brashear/Thorburn thing and they've got a hell of a knockout compilation, we all still sort of love the Evander Kane/Matt Cooke beating. Kovalchuk and Ovechkin being direct competitors as well as friends was like icing on the cake, they were hard fought but left on the ice battles.

It sounds more and more like the people that owned the Hawks wanted to try to burn them down on purpose (no pun intended) and they ended up the red-headed step-child of their own ownership more than something they actually tried to make work but didn't.

I'd love another Atlanta team, they were like the Caps' little brother that we (or I) enjoyed loving to compete with. Hell, I don't often make EA NHL franchises with the Capitals because I have emotional attachment, so I'd often rebuild Atlanta when they were a thing.

I never hated them, but two failed tries in my lifetime is enough. I do feel for the fans of the teams that left though. Crazy thing is the Thrashers ended up replacing the Jets which I was bitter over leaving to Arizona. How funny would it be if Arizona moved to Atlanta.

I despised the name and all of those jerseys. If somehow they get a third chance start fresh.

Rempe gets 4 games for that bad hit on Siegs.

The end of an (short) era. Next time it's double, and the time after that it's x 4 and after that it's KHL for him.

The end of an another era. Crosby mailing it in is pretty funny. If they suck next season too and he starts mailing it in after like ~20 games, you'd think that era ends in him requesting a trade.

Bunting is the biggest loser in that dumpster fire. He propably left some money in the table wanting to play his prime on a good Canes team and then he gets traded to the Penguins.

That's the thing, the more I've been hearing on this from fans that seem to know what's up, the second one was not an abject failure, it was literally tanked by the ownership group on purpose to make the Hawks the best ticket in town/their arena/portfolio.

Not only has a decent amount likely changed by now but I'd take a flier on an ownership group that actually wants it to happen.

Most of the elements were not great but I personally liked the sleeve distinction on the home jerseys. Asymmetry in design is so infrequent and I really enjoyed that part

Atlanta is a terrible sports town. Full stop.

If they can make it work on try #3 that’s great - good for the sport, etc… But I’d rather they give another market, like Salt Lake City, a chance first.

At 65 points, they're still in it.

BTW me citing the Caps remaining schedule yesterday is kind of a wash. The Red Wings, Islanders and Sabres (I didn't even check the Devils they're so lame) all have tough remaining schedules. Its all going to come down who gets the lucky break here and there.
I've written them off and gotten sucked back in a couple times. I LOVE eating crow.

Really looking forward to the one I'm saving for after Miro blossoms into a star.

Rempe is a dangerous asshole. No place for guys like that in the game. He is deliberately hurting people.

Then he won't even fight MacDermid and waves at him while Seigs is lying injured on the ice.
Yeah he's probably going to be either seriously injured or in the KHL soon. Can't imagine many GMs are ok with that.

Kuzy with a goal and an assist against the Panthers so far tonight.

Don't think he did the bird celebration though!

Or him in general. He lost every ounce of affection and compassion I had for him over the last few years. f*** that guy in particular.
I was probably one of his biggest critics here the past 3 years, but I just don’t care to feel anger toward the guy. He’s either got real problems, or he’s incredibly immature still. I feel sorry for him honestly. But cheer for him, playing for the Canes, F that noise….

Buffalo with a statement game vs NYI tonight.I think they will ultimately capture that #2 WC spot.
(Also Sabres remaining schedule relatively easy).

What in the world is going on with Detroit. 7 losses in a row, and lately those losses haven't even been close.

Penguins still have some fight in them.
