I really respect Panarin for speaking out about this knowing what it could entail for him and his family. It's really unfortunate that the Cap's Russian players are so tight with such an evil man.

Panarin has been very outspoken against the current Russian government in the past.

Kekäläinen seems like he's got balls of steel, but having this guy in the org at this point seems a bad idea, it'll be interesting how long they take to pull the trigger on a trade, the vultures must be circling.

Agreed. You can't expect dedication and loyalty from a person if he can that easily give up on another team. For free I'd take him for sure but giving up assets for him? Pass.

I actually see the potential for both teams in this trade but Laine is for sure a more gifted offensive talent and that should be the main factor when you evaluate a young forward's worth on the market. Jackets did as good as they could with this Dubois trade. Props to Jarmo, he keeps that team alive year after year with these blockbuster trades.

I don't know, Laine is flashy but he needs quality linemates. I'd take PLD over Laine as a complete, play-driving center (the last few games not withstanding)

I think it's a fine trade for both sides though, Laine and PLD had to be moved
