Good shows, but why isn't it available on more streaming platforms? An expensive add on.
That's where I'm at. It needs to be on more platforms -- not as an addon, but as part of the standard package -- for many people to really care what they do.

Also, why won't they make it available in Canada? The unvarnished USA versions of the MLB Network and NFL Network are. (and by that I mean they do not have Canadian content requirements. Old NHL Network that was discontinued after Rogers took over was a Canadian version of it)

It had something to do with the last telly deal in Canada, it seemed SN wanted all the rights to highlights and game situations that NHL Network is currently doing.

Does anyone have any info on terms and dollar amounts for this POS network? How much money is the NHL losing by clinging to this dying entity?

Near as I can tell, a good portion of the audience of the NHL Network are older, and as such, they stick with their cable subscriptions and also tend to be slower to adopt or adapt to change. Sure, NHL Network is offered on some streaming TV providers, but tend to be paywalled behind additional sports packages (see: SlingTV) or on a higher subscription tier (see: Fubo, DirecTV Stream) rather than simply being a part of a basic package.

Until the NHL understands that younger folks also enjoy hockey, and are unwilling to purchase expensive TV or streaming packages or are simply unable to justify it, access to the NHL Network will remain unavailable for those of us without streaming TV or with a service that doesn't carry it (see: Hulu Live TV).

As for how much the league is losing? Well, who knows? I'm pretty sure they don't care anyway. If they did, it'd be available in more places.

Fubo is a little different. It is an option on the higher priced tiers, or you can pay the bill quarterly and get their 10-channel extra sports package for free.

Ah I gotcha. All I saw was their basic plan at $79, and their Sports Extra at $99, when I poked around there this afternoon, so it gave the impression that it was indeed a higher tier plan at a higher price.

Been longtime since I have been able to watch NHL Network

It's on most expensive tier from my provider

NHL should be giving away channel to get as many potential eyes and interest on it as possible

In all honesty, I had to go back and look for myself. It’s only 8 channels - NHL, MLB, NBA, Tennis Channel, and the obscure ESPNs - News, U, SEC, and ACC.
