After conferring with @ajgoal, we are proud to select Ivan Hlinka as our player from the past. You may also recall him as a coach who coached the Nagano team, Penguins before the Jagr trade, or coach who was supposed to be on the bench during the 2004 World cup. (before he tragically passed away)

This pick, however, is for a center position, where he proved to be one of the most effective players of his generation. Evidenced by scoring in domestic league, international competitions be it world championship or olympic games, and other leagues.
