The Megaverse is going to save me from going insane about ice hockey.

The NJFZ were prepared to lose Poseidon but were genuinely taken aback at losing Drunken Noodles. That means that we have to go to one of our two back-up plans, 1 Italian and 1 Asian. For the Italian option, we immediately thought of [REDACTED], which we do a killer version of at home knowing that the key is to use white wine rather than red, but decided it was too soulful of a dish for our franchise.

Instead, we decided to go Asian and in retrospect it's a much better fit for our club than Drunken Noodles would have been. We needed a noodle dish that was not only life-sustaining but also fiery, so fiery that it leaves one's mouth numb, the better able to handle life's myriad disasters.

The Flaming Zeppelins Official Pasta / Noodle dish is Dan Dan Mian. This simple dish is typically prepared with ground pork, sesame paste, chili oil, ground sichuan peppercorns, garlic, soy, ground peanuts, etc. Those lovely sichuan peppercorns literally leave your mouth numb so that you can better handle the spice level; it's a sensation the Chinese call málà. It is addictive, particularly if done authentically.

We especially recommend this and other dishes at DanDan on 16th St.
