Ok, let’s get weird. I read the Country topics three times to be sure. Nowhere in the description does it say the country has to exist.

The M.A.D. Cats are a peaceful organization that values science and art heavily. It can be tough to find an entire century that adheres to that vibe. Unless of course the concept is meticulously created around being in a specific century.

Poor @Beef Invictus is probably trying to grab a nap while he finally has a minute to himself and here I come blasting my trumpet and telling him to make a selection.

I just want to point out again that you can't go full Trekkie and then comment on any Star Wars content ever. Even agnostic comments about Star Wars content are outside the parameters of what you can say after that. You are basically creating a lifetime gag order for yourself.

Wars is a collection of popcorn movies that happen to be set in space. I’m not making fun of the content. They’re not bad. They’re just not my personal taste. I’m making fun of the people that take it super seriously. “HAN SHOT FIRST” with spittle flying everywhere and shit like that.

Trek (at least the ones I like) is traditional sci-fi that happens to be set in space. It’s way, way nerdier and I openly admit this. What I am not doing is spending a single second of my life complaining about how this new Picard series is made by people who don’t understand the characters at all. I hope the people that like it enjoy it.

Plus the last 15-20 years of Trek is just Star Wars in a different universe. There's no difference anymore.

Shockingly little need for napping so far! Infant has had a merciful sleep schedule! But thank you anyway, Jojo! Barnacled Jojo! Dental Jojo! Pure Jojo! I hope you saw the Utah St/Air Force game last night. It was a fun one to watch analytically and sort out what each was doing to the other. AF was very on point with their run execution and it was funny to watch Utah trying to figure out what it would take to stop them. By the end of the game they'd determined that a 7 man front with what I assume was a single safety in the LB spot was what it would take to hold them to only 3-4 yards per rush.

I'm going to do DETECTIVE. My DETECTIVE is, as you shall see,

William of Baskerville

William is the detective in Umberto Eco's "Name of the Rose." It is a murder mystery set in the 14th century in the earliest stages of the Renaissance, wherein the conflict between the protagonists and murderer are set in the backdrop of the greater conflict between old orthodoxy and threatening ideas and ways of thinking. It's a really brilliant novel that everyone should read.

Mr. Beef,

This is one of my absolute favorite works in any written form. What a wonderful choice.

Extremely glad to hear everyone is doing well.

I've read it a few times, which puts it in a tier with only LOTR and Dune as things I've read more than once.

Knowing the crowd here I had severe doubts he could last long.

This is a brilliant Plan B, Beef. I wish I had the brainpower to have thought of him, as you thought.
