For the FOGs final pick, we need to pick a Team Decade/Country.
Let's take it all the way back to 1780-1790 America.
We get to experience the last few years of the Revolutionary War (where i'll obviously be in a high ranking position nowhere near the front lines) and the first full decade of America as an Independent Country. What's really appealing though is the idea of escaping to a simpler way of life whenever I choose to hop in our time machine. The FOG Compound can be chaotic at times.
Let's take it all the way back to 1780-1790 America.

These Youtube ads are taking the piss. Seriously. You may not believe this, but I went into it with a relatively mature and calm attitude. I was disappointed, but I thought "Well, these f***ers are just monetizing this shit just like anyone would." They already make a f***ing fortune through other advertising, I think, but whatever. Then you live with it for an hour or two and you're like "This is worse than Sunday Night f***ing Football." There are just so f***ing many of them. I was watching my Chinese dating show last night, and I shit you not, they were coming in like every five minutes.
This small-term gain for long-term pain is the kind of thing that is going to destroy it. People aren't going to live with it for too long, no matter how addicted they are to the platform. It's the way a behemoth becomes an amoeba.

I haven't watched the reality show version of "Squid Game" yet, but I'm starting to get worried that idiot executives will think it is better to have this version than the fictional one. That would be ... not good. The good news is that the creators of the original have already committed to making a second season, so hopefully it won't be an issue.
