Considering Nascar a sport its about as realistic as fencing with gloves on
Major League Baseball has played official games in Australia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, along with spring training games in China.Has the MLB, NBA, NFL played in Australia? MLB, NFL in China? Any major North American league in South America? or Africa ?
Be cool to hear them call "look at that meatball go".Why hasn’t the MLB played in Sweden?
It’s not that far fetched. They played an outdoor game in Vegas in the 90soutdoor game on the beach in cancun would be pretty cool

Is this thread serious? I'm sure those other sports are way more popular than NHL in Mexico
Ok and?In 2025 nascar , nba , mlb and possibly the nfl will all play regular season games in mexico next year. Considering the future demographics trends of America and the biggest market for North American sports outside of an and a why hasn’t the nhl played at least an exhibition down there? Why is the nhl so behind on this type of stuff?
I'd probably go Florida/Chicago/LA for some obvious reasonsToronto/Vegas should play the first game there.
Why is playing in Mexico an absolute necessity?
Ah yes, enter cartel-infested and controlled territory for a few extra billionaire bucks.I can think of 22 million reasons why.
Mexico City is the largest city in North America, with a metro area nearly 60% of Canada's TOTAL population. Plus since it's the same hemisphere as the NHL, there's no issues with time zones (unlike Europe).
Does that mean it could support an NHL team full time? Doubtful
Could they hold a exhibition game there and sell out? Absolutely
No more or less than the Southern NHL markets that ended up embracing NHL hockey and contributing to league growth.Maybe cause it is the only one played on ice??? Also, why does the NHL care about playing in Mexico? Are they a hockey hotbed or something?

Home game for papi!Toronto/Vegas should play the first game there.
Yes, because the ASG in Lake Tahoe was such a success.outdoor game on the beach in cancun would be pretty cool
Neither does Australia and there they played thereEvery sport that goes there, does so because of an affiliation of some type. Residents are fans, potential expansion area,etc.. what would the NHLs motivation be? Mexico has no strong national hockey program or desire to expand to the country as far as I am aware.
Home game for papi!
So there shouldn’t be a team in Chicago then since that city is insanely violent. Oof your not consistent your a hypocriteAh yes, enter cartel-infested and controlled territory for a few extra billionaire bucks.
Sounds promising.
