Eklund Update
- Please send me your rumors

- A top team in the West is trying to trade up and snag the young Evander Kane.

EKLUND's DRAFT ANALYSIS

1) NY Islanders (IslesRock4) - John Tavares, C

Easy pick by the Islanders. Tavares will be the new face of the franchise and the Islanders will market the hell out of him. The kid has always been the star and will score a ton of goals in the NHL. The only reason people have been questioning his skills is because he has been a star for a long time. He does lack in the skating department and that may be the only thing that holds him back in the NHL. Also, John doesn't play a good two-way game and will never be a Selke canidate but look for this to improve over time.

Ceiling - Star Center, 40-50 goals and 80-100 points

2) Tampa Bay (The Hockey Hitman) - Victor Hedman, D

We all know that Tampa Bay GM THH has a huge man crush on Hedman so really it was no surprise that he was taken here. His most impressive attribute is that he is 6'6 and can skate like he is 5'10. Hedman also is an excellent passer and knows exactly when to pinch. He has excellent hockey sense. The only knock on Hedman have been that for his size he isn't overly physical. His defensive positioning could use work but defensively he is great for his age.

Ceiling - #1 defenseman, 25G - 40A - 65 P

Prediction for next pick: Colorado - Matt Duchene

1) Colorado Avalanche (ESY16) - Matt Duchene, C

Duchene was the BPA for the Avs at this pick. For some scouts, he was ranked above the highly skilled Hedman. He is a excellent skater who works hard all the time...has an excellent two-way game...is a playmaker but has an underrated quick shot...Natural leader...isn't afraid to go to the net or into the corners...Colorado hopes he replaces Joe Sakic. He should probably spend another year in juniors.

Ceiling - 1st line center, 30-50-80,

Prediction for next pick: Toronto - Brayden Schenn
