Wonder where Adam Boqvist will end up.

If we didn't already have Malinski at 3RD and Girard it may have been worth a try but it's probably not realistic to try to squeeze in a smallish PP specialist. Will be intrigued to see who takes a chance on him though.

In no way should we just be penciling in Malinski on the 3rd pairing

4 years for Domi and Bertuzzi. Drouin camp can't be asking for much more. Get it done Cmac.
I think this is one of the rare cases where letting a guy like Drouin go to market and see what other teams are offering might actually help the Avs.

We value him a lot. Rightfully so. His intelligence and passing ability was absurd but the craziest part was this guy was damn near elite defensively for us. After Nichushkin I think Drouin was our best defensive forward. We value that. Our front office and coaching staff values that. But I don’t know how many other front offices believe in it.

The Mackinnon/Avs boost is likely real in the eyes of most GM’s. I don’t think he gets any long term offers with decent money anywhere else.

You don't think he did enough to deserve a solid look?

Don't get me wrong I'd love to sign a more established guy, but given cap constraints it may be hard to find someone better for $850k

Avs have been linked to Janmark several times in the past, wonder if they finally get him this time. He may get a slight raise on the $1m he earned this year which might make it too tight to fit in, but if he takes a similar AAV it could be workable. Would be a decent C/LW for the 4th line

I wonder if this is when we FINALLY get Kulikov, too

I'm already pre-mad at Cmac for today, so my expectations at about as low as they come

I've already accepted the fact that the Avs are going to get progressively worse each year. This year they'll have significantly less depth even if they manage to get Drouin signed, the year after that Mikko's new contract is going to be a team killer.

The Landeskog injury and Nuke drug addiction imploded the Avs contention window two years early.
