I’m interested to see how the shesterkin situation plays out. I realize that they start high but I don’t think I’d pay any goalie 12-13 million. If we had a cap back in the 90’s I’d have packed Roy’s bags for him at that ask.

I assume in the end, his contract will be close to what Vasi signed. That would be 10.2M in today's cap.

Grab Schmidt for 3/2.5?
If they are going to play Malinski then Schmidt isn't the right veteran. They need a JJ type, just younger I'd hope. Someone who is the defensively responsible one first on the 3rd pair. These guys aren't that hard to find for around $1m. If they did sign Schmidt or someone like him that would tell me a Girard trade was incoming.

That's the date I've seen for the sale being completed. It could go dark before though.
The talk was that it was going to be kept online through the draft and free agent frenzy. So I would expect at least tomorrow in full...
