I assume in the end, his contract will be close to what Vasi signed. That would be 10.2M in today's cap.

If they are going to play Malinski then Schmidt isn't the right veteran. They need a JJ type, just younger I'd hope. Someone who is the defensively responsible one first on the 3rd pair. These guys aren't that hard to find for around $1m. If they did sign Schmidt or someone like him that would tell me a Girard trade was incoming.

what i will say about TBL is they do try. every off season they make tough choices and decisions to try to get better. I dont know if CMac has the balls to do that (trade a core player).
