Hey, isles have a bunch of possible guys who i'd like to see draft

Cristal, Heidt, and Ziemmer all could be gone before 49, but the isles have a chance.

One thing was very noticeable in this draft. The issue of teams possibly being afraid to select Russians went right out the window. Plenty of Russians went.

Lou isn’t going to do anything except make draft selections. And then he’ll do nothing during Free Agency.
Thanks Arizona!

Maxim Strbak is a guy we met with that Lou could be targeting. Big 2way RSD.

I’m praying a center falls but im looking at the remaining and I think we’re just too far out. Hopefully there’s an early run on goalies

Get a center/defenseman. Thats the important one. If you get a winger, im fine anyways.

Not looking forward to Michkov bitch slapping us for years when he finally comes over right around the time we are (finally) in a rebuild. Actually...all the Metro teams that picked did real well this round with their picks. Fantastic.

The NHL just does not know how to sell the game. Yes - This is an ESPN production, but they should have their hand in how it's produced as this is terrible coverage.
Agreed. No hype and the crowd is very quiet. Def no nba or nfl draft. NHL will always be at the bottom of the top 4 sport league's

Anything can happen. I’d like to see Heidt drop buuut I don’t see it happening, realistically.

Realistically and it will never happen in order for the NHL Draft to be more comparable to the NFL Draft these guys need to be coming in at older ages so they can step right in and produce.

ESPN did an awful job yesterday. Not more awful than Lou being able to do nothing though.

It should go back to 20yo for sure. Such a difference between 18 and 20.

Seems like TOR went a bit off the board with their pick - at least based on where the kid was sitting. He was sitting in the Day Two seats - took him a couple of minutes to walk all the way down.

Much less concerned about Michkov someday playing in the NHL with whatever centers the Flyers may or may not acquire than I am abut Fantilli being in the division either in 2023-2024 or the next year. Getting him was incredibly good fortune for Columbus. He was BPA, and also exactly who they needed. He's more mobile than Carlsson, and has plenty of time to add whatever strength he lacks. He's going to play with great wingers from jump.

Chicago also got lucky. Adding Moore along with Bedard... Well, if Bedard is the most dynamic skater in the draft, Moore is 2nd.

Michkov is no Ovechkin or Malkin. He's signed for a long time, he's not big, he's not a dynamic skater, and there's still questions about how well he uses his teammates. There's no doubting his ability to score goals when he can get his shot off. But imo there's plenty there to create reasonable doubt about his projection. And reasonable doubt becomes a lot stronger when the Flyers are involved.

Speaking of which, I hope someone throws Joel Farabee a line, and gets him the heck out of there.

Personally, I think Cristall gets picked very early. Too much upside. Only flaw he has is his skating, so I wouldn't be surprised if a team with a few picks early on takes him.

Big fan of Wahlberg. If he's available, the Islanders need to sprint to the podium. He's got a ton of upside.

Think Nelson has a very high chance at being available at 49.

Dragicevic will probably be taken in the first 10 picks of the second.

But where would the kids play? I doubt the CHL wants nearly 21 year olds beating up on 16-18 year olds. That might be fine for college hockey, but there's only so many top programs to go around.

Does anyone have a list of "Best Available Left" from Button/TSN/Anywhere?

Then lets see what happens when that time comes no?

ESPN hates hockey. I have no idea why TNT doesn't do the draft. I cannot stand hearing Chayka, Bucci and Kaplan. One of them had a constant lisp going on, and they talked over some selections as well. I'm just tired of ESPN, and this is their third draft btw.

There's also a big difference between the NHL and NFL drafts in that the NFL draft is comprised of players fans have already been viewing in college. The NHL doesn't have that since the players are younger and play all across the world. Only hardcore fans know these players.
