FWIW as we stand here at 6 am PST Fanduel odds have Fantilli -310 and Carlsson +170 to be picked 2nd
Has that changed much in last couple days or has it been consistent?

You trust him more than I do but that's basically where we are.In Madden we trust.
I know the focus is on the #2, but this draft is huge for the Ducks. They have to hit on some forwards and bolster the ranks.

His comments about Columbus were interesting. He is guessing their ranking is Fantilli, Smith, Carlsson. I would have thought just the opposite.2023 NHL Mock Draft: After Connor Bedard goes No. 1, Corey Pronman sees room for surprise
Who will go No. 2? It could be Leo Carlsson or Adam Fantilli. And Matvei Michkov remains a wild card at the top of the draft.theathletic.com
Pronams final mock. Has us taking Carlsson. Says “ I dont know what Anaheim will do but Carlsson No2 is a legitimate option around the league”View attachment 722483
It’s a bit weird in that it isn’t a lot of movement for Fantilli but it’s a good jump for Carlsson. Odds aren’t everything and all that and are going to be influenced by talk like this but definitely trending Carlsson.Has that changed much in last couple days or has it been consistent?
Better picks. He has run the draft for the team that by many metrics has had the most draft success during that time frame. What else do you want?

Either way, I still think there is a deal to be made between 2OA and 3OA. I'm hoping at this point that the Ducks end up picking 3OA and get some additional assets. I'm almost beyond caring whether they get Fantilli or Carlsson.
I'm not predicting it but I think it could happen. All it takes is for Columbus to badly want Fantilli or Carlsson and be willing to move up to 2OA to guarantee it. The Ducks could still get their guy and monetize that pick at the same time. We just don't know. This just doesn't happen. Why wouldn't the Ducks just put some confidence in the kid they select at 2 and select him at 2. None of these choices are off the board, so i don't know what you'd recoup by trading down to 3. Columbus would probably just prefer to call the bluff and take whats left over.
Carlsson is a tier below because of? I do fully trust the work of our staff. If they rate someone at #2 he will be there for a reason, no matter what the internet scouts think of.Fantilli should be the CLEAR pick. I don't want them to take Michkov but i would respect it. Carlson is in a tier below and i will be pissed for a couple of hours, then get behind him and fully support him as a new duck.
Did he get picked by the Ducks and I missed it?So you're probably unimpressed with McDavid also.
Always funny when someone exactly knows where floor and ceiling lies.Carlsson's floor seems like Dylan Strome, ceiling seems like Kopitar or Bergeron.
Fantilli's floor seems like Kreider, ceiling seems like Malkin or Mackinnon.
I will not elaborate further.
Just doing some pot-stirring.Always funny when someone exactly knows where floor and ceiling lies.
Just doing some pot-stirring.
To be fair, I did say "seems like", and I've made it clear multiple times that I don't actually play the game.
Off the top of my head, he hasn’t done well with late first round picks. He has run the draft for the team that by many metrics has had the most draft success during that time frame. What else do you want?
Those four the jury is still out there. But doesn't look like Jones is going to be where we'd hoped. But I still like the player, Lundy had a step back but he is slated to be a 30-40 point shutdown C, going to need that down the road. Perreault and Tracey, also took a step back but still have time.Off the top of my head, he hasn’t done well with late first round picks.
Perreault, Tracey, Lundestrom, Jones, Steel, Larsson.
I thought I was going for Stephens' job at the Athletic, but maybe I should be going after Pronman's instead! In your defense, I have read those player comparisons from multiple places.
As long as it’s not “The pick is in!”
No. My point is you are unimpressed with Madden even though he has probably been the best guy at his job for almost 15 years. You want him to be better, which is absurd. Do you also expect McDavid to be better?Did he get picked by the Ducks and I missed it?
2 of those guys are still prospects, and the other 4 have 212, 206, 262, and 172 NHL games played.Off the top of my head, he hasn’t done well with late first round picks.
Perreault, Tracey, Lundestrom, Jones, Steel, Larsson.
