Maybe because McDavid plays way more minutes than the other top 3 scorers in the league. Like 4 minutes extra per game due to the fact Edmonton is dead set on being a one trick pony. Give the other top 3 scorers 4 extra minutes per game and see what happens.Don’t see it with Huberdeau. He’s on a stacked team. Don’t see his argument over McDavid especially if McDavid wins the Ross.
I can get behind a case for Josi or Shesterkins or even Matthews a few weeks ago when it looked like he was a lock for 60
I love this whole narrative that McDavid is having a down year though. It's adorable.
Sounds like a good argument in support of him being the MVP to be honest.Maybe because McDavid plays way more minutes than the other top 3 scorers in the league. Like 4 minutes extra per game due to the fact Edmonton is dead set on being a one trick pony. Give the other top 3 scorers 4 extra minutes per game and see what happens.
If he’s played 300 more minutes than Gaudreau and only has 5 more points then I think that argument goes the other way.Sounds like a good argument in support of him being the MVP to be honest.
I’d say the opposite. He’s shown be can play huge minutes with below average linemates and still perform at an elite level. If he’s played 300 more minutes than Gaudreau and only has 5 more points then I think that argument goes the other way.
No doubt. It's everyone else is having great years too.
Yeah what's up with that? He's litererally having his best non-covid season ever. I think it's more representative of his level than the weird shortened seasons.I love this whole narrative that McDavid is having a down year though. It's adorable.
McDavid shouldn't be anywhere near Hart with Drai being on his team. It should be Huberdeau, Matthews, Gaudreau, Josi, Kaprizov, Shesterkin or someone like that.
The same argument can be made for a whole pile of those guys though, it's a slippery slope. Do we just give it to the player having the best season with the worst teammates around him?
Josi & Kaprizov don't have teammates even close to Draisaitl's level.
What a dumb logic then you proceed to name Gaudreau and Matthews. Both on stacked teams.McDavid shouldn't be anywhere near Hart with Drai being on his team. It should be Huberdeau, Matthews, Gaudreau, Josi, Kaprizov, Shesterkin or someone like that.
You can just as easlily argue that guys like McDavid, Gaudreau and Matthews have elevated their teammates with their incredible play, as you can argue that Josi/Kaprizov are clearly more valuable because they are so far ahead of their teammates. The argument is never as simple as you think.Josi & Kaprizov don't have teammates even close to Draisaitl's level.
Drai is on his team but not on his line at ES.McDavid shouldn't be anywhere near Hart with Drai being on his team. It should be Huberdeau, Matthews, Gaudreau, Josi, Kaprizov, Shesterkin or someone like that.
Evander Kane had more points than either of Gaudreau's linemates last year...Drai is on his team but not on his line at ES.
Matthews and Gaudreau clearly have better linemates at ES so including them and excluding McDavid makes no sense.
Evander Kane had more points than either of Gaudreau's linemates last year...
No, just pointing out that it's not like McDavid has had no help at 5v5. Tkachuk and Lindholm are great, but, like literally everyone who has ever played with Gaudreau, their point totals are significantly inflated.Just to be clear, are you trying to argue that Tkachuk and Lindholm are worse than Kane and Yamamoto?
