Any proof of this?

Are we talking about the same Dahlin?
Dahlin has a below 50% xgoals share 5v5, and is net 0 in actual goals.

Heiskanen has the 3rd highest xgoals share in hockey, behind only the Bouchard-Ekholm pairing

The last two years he’s been at 52.8 and 51% according to naturalstattrick and 52.1 and 49.4% according to EvolvingHockey. And while he was a net zero last year the main reason was because Buffalo couldn’t score at 5v5 this year. He was plus 10 the year before.

He’s also been on a terrible team though. GAR numbers and RAPM numbers suggest he’s a pretty huge positive impact player.

Nobody is saying Dahlin isn't an elite dman.

There's just a higher standard when you want to be compared to Hughes, Heiskanen, Makar, or Fox.

Yeah, which why I said Yzerman's roster construction is bad and that he's a poor GM, and didn't make a criticism of Seider. Regarding your points:

1. Yes, the GM sucks. It's Yzerman's fault the team is bad and Seider is left to get buried.
2. It should be a goal. Seider has the tools to be a truly elite all-around defenseman, like a Heiskanen. IMO, that seems like it would be good for the Wings. Burying him with such brutal deployment, with no help, is not going to maximize him.
3. Even guys like Ghost don't provide "elite offense". Most players viewed this way are just PP merchants, but they don't create much build-up at 5v5 (EDM Tyson Barrie is the canonical example).
1. The team isn't bad, but yes, there hasn't been enough quality support on defense for Seider.
2. Heiskanen didn't crack 40+ points until his 5th NHL season. Seider, comparatively, has been producing more and playing more on the PP. Yeah, he got a rough deal on ES matchups last season but there's no basis in reality for an idea that they're not developing him to be an all-situations #1.
3. Ghost is top 30 in both PP and 5v5 P/60 the last 3 years, and top 20 in total points. He's at least a borderline elite offensive guy, but whatever you want to call him doesn't matter; point is it's easier to find those flawed-but-offensively-skilled guys than it is to find someone with top ~30 defense.

Well if you want the simplest explanation.

Dahlin currently loses his minutes.

Heiskanen wins his minutes massively.

I don't want to hear any bullshit about teammates or anything. If you are trying to claim Dahlin is a top 5, or top 10 dman in hockey, it is unacceptable for him to be getting outchanced, outshot, and outscored when he's on the ice.

Every season there's yet another excuse for why Dahlin hasn't lived up to the potential that Buffalo fans claim he has.

It's all copium.
