I'd love him, but we really don't have room for him here. The only trade that would make sense is something like Donato and Murphy 50% retained and the Toronto 1st. I'd imagine they'd have other teams lined up with better offers for him than that, though.

Maybe Seth Jones 25% retained and Toronto 1st for him? But then again there’s already a logjam of Dmen in New Jersey so idk. I like your trade more.

Shocked the league had the stones to suspend McDavid for 3 games. I have definitely seen a lot worse plays get less, or nothing at all.

That is not to say this suspension wasn't deserved. Personally, I'd have probably given him 2 games if it were my call.

It is his second hearing. GHot a $5k fine for the first one. Didn't get anything for the chicken wing in Minnesota so I think this is well deserved.

He has a sneaky amount of dirty hits and play on his record at this point. Without even thinking much I can think of like 4 within the last calendar year. He had a pretty bad crosscheck in the playoffs last year, I think also against Vancouver.

That's how I remember it as well, but when I search for it all I can find are articles on the Soucy crosscheck to McDavid's face.

Yep, it was the end of the game, after the final buzzer, and he straight-up crosschecked a guy right in the face.

With the Hawks recent attendance trend I'm not sure we'd be high on Barzal's landing spots if he were to be traded.

That's going to be a tough one to recover from with the fans.

Barzal for Jones straight up and no retention for either side. Who says no? 6 more years at a 9.1M hit for Barzal. Pretty sure NYI would say no, but they aren't exactly a well run franchise so who knows maybe they would consider it. Can't imagine SJ would waive for the Islanders of all teams, though.
