Shesterkin gives them a .930 SV% in the playoffs every year. That’s worth a lot. I don’t mind the deal especially with Trouba off the books.

I agree. Also lose him and there goes any hope of that teams contention.

Cap is increasing too, lots of factors.

Trouba's cap hit was the real obstacle but Anaheim didn't them a real solid.

Banking in the cap increasing just reminds me of 2014 and talking about how the strong Canadian dollar due to tar sands oil refining would make the Kane and Toews extensions a non issue.

Not saying it won’t work but it’s never a sure thing. Even last year Uncle Gary slow walked the players laying back escrow to keep the cap down a little lower.

There’s been smoke about it for years. It’s not just a run off story

Anyone reputable ever mention it? I see it mentioned a lot but can’t recall ever seeing a tweet with someone connected in any regard mentioning it.

Tried googling out of curiosity but didn’t see anything.

"According to what Radio-Canada journalist Martin Leclerc reveals in the latest edition of the «Tellement hockey»podcast, it would seem that the explanation behind this nomination is quite different and that it would not go over very well with his teammates.

"I don't know if Claude Giroux will be able to help this, but it seems that there is a problem with the leadership of the Senators. Brady Tkachuk became captain because he had that clause in his contract and it doesn't seem to have gone over very well with his teammates." - Martin Leclerc, Via GoHabsGo.com

I like Kovalenko and 2nd is good

Still feels a bit light for Sharks

At end of day Avs going with Blackwood/Wedgewood duo is certainly a choice. That duo didn't exactly impress back in NJ

Blackwood is not the answer. Georgiev is the gambler's Mrazek. Really good or more often really bad. A first and Kovalenko I'd gladly take to eat the Georgiev deal for Soda a guy I've been pumping for years and the Avs actually get some upside. Oof.

Good sign for Jones.

Hawks don’t exactly have a need to force him out of town, so not really unless he requests a trade himself.

Given he’s mostly played on losing teams in his 10+ years he doesn’t strike me as a guy who is driven by winning.

Just mean if you can just give away a vet middle pairing/bottom pairing guy at 8 mil with 2 years left now should be fine doing it in 3 more years at 9.5 if jones play falls off.

Obviously Wahlstrom hasn't panned out but I can't help but feel it might be worth a claim to try him out? Am I just being blinded by "first round pick pedigree"?

I never wanted him that draft and many here did... he always seemed too 1 dimensionsal. I did want Dobson though. Islanders winded up with both of them.

I also didnt buy into the Quinn Hughes hype that draft with the WC praise from Kane, so what did I know.
