I realize the Hagel trade has been good for both sides, but I think this Jeannot trade has a real chance to be awful.

Not rocket science at this point, but guys never produced at the NHL level to garner that type of return, even at his AAV.
Not looking great right now. I'd love to see him fully recover from his injury and play like a monster these next two years.

300+ wins for organization, Vezina, Jennings and Carried team to game 7 of SCF

I think its fine choice by Flames

In franchise history they have only had 2 goalies worthy of honor and the other has had his jersey retired

Becomes only the 4th flame to have this honor

Lanny McDonald
Jerome Iginla
Mike Vernon

Are the other 3 names and all are in HOF (Will be once Vernon officially goes in), Kipper will never be in HOF but I get the importance of his role in bringing Flames back to life and off the ice so why he is getting treatment.

He is coming off year in which he was pretty clearly a top 10 goalie in league

27-10-5
2.33 GAA (5th in NHL)
.919 sv pct (6th in NHL)
4 Shutouts (Tied for 5th in NHL)

First goalie to win a playoff series in net for Leafs since Ed Belfour

Player side will always go high while team will lowball. I think his ask is closer to his worth then what Leafs peg it at

I suspect they meet in middle range (3.5M-3.6M) but wouldn't be shocked if he gets $4M if this goes thru to arbitration.

Still can’t believe they didn’t trade their first to us for Murray. Would’ve made this all a lot easier

Ended up getting yanked in the playoffs and finished the series without him in net, as well. But in a world where the likes of Jarry, Campbell, Hill, and Korpisalo get 4-5mil+, yeah, Leafs may lose on this one.
