The Canucks are the worst run team in the league. That OEL buyout is like shooting yourself in the foot, only for the bullet to ricochet and hit you in the balls.

I guess Van is comfy with that $20MM buyout over trading the 11th overalll for it. But remember, this is train wreck Vancouver. Their course will change when they fire this mgmt team in a couple years.

Remember when the Hawks had an outdoor game or two where they just skated out there with borderline identical away jerseys passing them off as "new" throwbacks?

Getting the same vibe with these marginal Flyers tweaks.

It's so odd. Originally sounded like they were going back to the 90s design, but they moreso merged both and ended up with something worse than either.

  • No black trim around the shoulders/arms
  • No orange trim on the sleeves
  • No trim on the sleeve numbers
I also prefer the brighter orange.

Flyers are rebuilding and should pull trigger here

They would have 3 1st rounders to kick off rebuild (Like Davidson had for Hawks at his first draft)

Figured Blues would be trying to use those late picks to improve roster

Seems like nobody wants to stay in Calgary. Perhaps they need to stabilize the front office for a period of time and get the new arena. But the way they have been run isn't working and the players are exercising their right.

So much for Sutter being the problem.

Look, I live in Bloomington-Normal. Literally every NHL market is happening compared to where I live.

But if you had all the options in the world as a multimillionaire athlete in the prime of your life, are you really interested in playing in a fairly small market with brutal winters compared to a major city or at least a place with much tamer winters?

Players are willing to play on bad teams in fun markets, on good teams in dull markets, and especially on good teams in fun markets. But a bad team in a dull market? There's going to be a veritable calgary stampede to the door out until they get good at the very least.

Ryjo basically for free at 50% I’d do that all day long. Good deal for Colorado if he stays healthy.

As a bowhunter, I would like to live there. But.....cannot play hockey worth a squirt.

Also, heard on NHL Sirius that Q and Bowman are meeting with Bettman in July about reinstatement.
Would love to live there, so beautiful. The winters would be so much better too, just have to dress a little warmer.
