It’s not really shocking that these people want to live in larger, more fun, and preferably warmer cities compared to smaller cities, especially up north. The literal smallest city in the NHL was always going to be a rough draw for free agents.

Columbus or Winnipeg are not shit. Hell, even dumpster fire St. Louis isn't shit. Shit's way too strong of a word to describe just about any major city, especially when speaking about the perspective of a multimillionaire athlete.

But there are cities that are far more dull compared to places like Chicago, LA, New York, Toronto, etc., etc. Rich people are going to be fine anywhere, there are great neighborhoods even in St. Louis. But these smaller cities flat out have less to do and see and play with compared to the mega markets or beachfront and mild winter cities.

And I fully know St. Louers get mad at the idea that St. Louis doesn't have as much on its plate than towns 5-10+ times their size.
