Unpopular opinion, but I want Mitchy to do well so Musto can be happy.

SOMEONE on this board needs to be happy.
I think most folks here want Hawk players/prospects to do well. When that happens the team wins.
A lot of people had high hopes for “Mitchy”. You are not being honest if you feel at D+5 he is a success at this point.
As well noted, this is it. If the competition is even close he has to get a spot.
With the current injuries he should be given top 4 minutes. He can either excel there or not. … if not then it’s time to move on from him.

Ian Cole is being accused of some pretty heinous shit. The league's looking into things right now.

The benefits to the Hawks (via owning Tampa's next two 1sts) are the least pressing thing with all this, but Ian's potential dismissal and whether or not they get back that $3m cap of his this season are things to keep an eye on here.

Prolly wouldn't have mentioned the cap implications at all.

It's certainly the least important piece of all this, but the Bolts signing this guy could really end up shooting them in the foot (which obviously benefits us).

Not exactly the way I'd want them to have struggles this season, but that's what they get for picking up a guy who famously f***ed around while his wife was pregnant. Should've been blacklisted from the league, not given a bigger dollar contract.

I understand what matters is the woman gets some form of justice, but just adding that there are potentially other things that this can have an affect on, especially for the organization that owns Tampa's first 2 picks in the next draft.

If you want to start black listing athlete's that cheated on their wives I might actually fulfill a childhood dream of playing for the Blackhawks.

The guy cheated on his pregnant wife with one of the Canes beat writers, who at the time was engaged. The guy is a gigantic dick who, prior to this allegation of grooming, was reaching heights that guys like Deangelo and E Kane were at.

There was an argument to be made that he should've been blacklisted from the league. Tampa gave him $3m instead and now they likely won't see him in a single regular season game.

How in the world does a guy who cracked into the league at 21 years old and “been in the league a few years” end up even being in touch with a minor in HS?

Must have been through family/friends, I guess.

Hopefully whoever it was is a willing and credible source.

Another example of teammates turning a blind eye to unbelievably horrific actions.

Just saw on main boards Cole cheated on his wife with a Canes reporter. Certainly not a good look if he’s going to try and deny this.

I don’t think it has any bearing on this. Not to defend his earlier cheating, but it’s a Grand Canyon sized gulf between that and what he’s accused of here.

I just don’t see how the earlier situation factors in.

I was saying that in the event he has to defend his character down the line, just that’s it’s not a good look. We will see how it all plays out.

I’m not exactly a boomer but by the time I think I was 20, if not even 19, I was no longer in touch with anyone still in HS. Just hard to make sense of it but I guess that’s what predators do.

And this dude was a professional athlete no less during this, if true. . Disgusting.

I still think Mitchell will turn out to be a good NHL player but yeah, the Musto-Mitchell stuff is beyond annoying, but we all know it is Musto being unfortunately Musto.

The Ian Cole stuff is just despicable and disgusting. Further proof that athletes should rarely be looked up to. I feel like for every athlete that is a good role model there are 5-10 that are the opposite.

I know this will not be received well but I sadly am of the belief that people are morally corrupt. In saying that, I do not believe that I am perfect or even close in my own right.

Professional athletes are people. Lots of people suck and that's before they're told at fifteen they're special and they get away with murder because they're good at sportsball.

We're all a little f***ed up sometimes. If you're a predator that's something else entirely.
