Random thought, but it’s awesome to see Morrissey have this offensive breakout. I admittedly never watched any of his pre NHL career but had taken a liking to his play over the last 5 or so years as he reminded me a lot of Hjalmarsson in quite a few ways.
I was pretty surprised to hear he was an offensive dynamo pre draft but was called to really hone in on his defensive side of the game which I really respect his awareness to do so and kind of let the offensive side take a backseat to developing into imo one of the best defensive side of the puck defensemen in the league.
I guess now that Maurice is out of the picture he’s been allowed to have more offensive freedom and he’s definitely made the most out of that opportunity without sacrificing any of his effort on the other side of the puck. He’s become a favorite player of mine before the offensive breakout but now even more so.
Side note I can’t see his name and not think of The Smiths.
