Well obviously. People should still care about the premise of "innocent until proven guilty", though.
Who’s to say people don’t? It’s a legal doctrine having nothing to do with the morality of having a personal opinion.

Even if found innocent Coles' reputation will forever be tainted.... same with Evander Kane and others.
According to you .... I, or anyone, could go on social media and accuse any athlete of sexual interference or rape and that person would instantly be suspended and that's perfectly fine. Ridiculous!
The accusation tainted reputation. The investigation did not.

Yeah, the people making false accusations should get the same range of jail sentence of the accusation they are making. Maybe we'll see less false accusations.
There's not that many false accusations. Report after report that try to study that always finds some numbers under 10% of sexual assault cases. Some from 2% to 5%

But people who leap on saying innocent until proven guilty don't seem to like applying that both ways. The accuser iss till also innocent until proven guilty then

Great plan if your goal is to end up with victims afraid to come forward under threat of prosecution
Not sure how else you are supposed to stop false accusations, there needs to be a severe punishment for proven false accusations, like the Patrick Kane incident.

There is... if the person wants there to he and files a libel suit. And they usually always get as bad as public outrage. With being ousted, home info being usually shared, and usually get death threats.

Just as people say the victim should file a police report if they want to go that way, same applies to those rare false accusations.

You're acting like the measures here don't exist when they do.

In the Kane saga she doctored evidence, and if Kane wanted to pursue a claim he could have. Your continued advocacy of a measure that would intimidate assault victims from coming forward is really bizarro.

If you care more about the incredibly small issue of "false accusations" more than the incredibly prevalent and life-altering issue of rape/SA that affects like one out of every five or six women (not to mention the other issues that come from a culture where rape is prevalent), I think you've lost the plot.

If it's any consolation to you, I promise you that there are tons of athletes that have gotten away with rape/SA and get to live their best lives with no consequences, even after being credibly accused. I promise you these athletes that you're white knighting for are really, really fine. I hope you sleep better knowing that.
