CONS: So they've made hits and poke checks useless, they've found a way to reward people for cycling the puck aimlessly, puck retrieval remains a joke, AI goaltending still the same, some annoying sound things like chants for the away team(no matter who), broadcasting even more repetitive, new line change controls took some getting used to, oh and shootout mode has gotten worse, especially the goaltending controls, in which the net is like a magnet.
PROS: A lot less glitches, lot less cheese. Passing is better. Menus are better, games load faster. They force you to find more ways to score rather than the tried and true, so it doesn't just devolve into a game of one-timers(unless you can't defend). It's at least different, EA at least seems like they put some effort into it.
Something's different. I have guys lined up, minor inconvenience at best, when last year, it would've been the hit it should've been. They have certainly not made hits useless. I don't know what you're talking about.
You're pulling back on the right thumbstick and pushing forward when you make contact? Manual checks and hipchecks are pretty significant this year.Something's different. I have guys lined up, minor inconvenience at best, when last year, it would've been the hit it should've been.
This. Can EA add a damned "hurry up" mode? An option to turn off all of the lame repetitive cut scenes and replays?
Hahah yeah.. I have a bigger problem with having to wait for the individual scorer celebration after a goal, then having to watch a few seconds of an over-enthusiastic celebration from the 5 players on the ice, as if each goal was important enough to hug your teammates and jump around, but not enough to clear the bench.Yes, and even just whistles from goalies covering and pucks out of play..there's no reason they couldn't just have the whistle then immediately jump to the next faceoff without all the BS in between
They should really try harder. The game is awful. I will tell that to anyone's face, developer or not. Who would be afraid of a nerdy game developer anyways? I have played hockey my whole life. The pressure system is foolish and not remotely realistic. In what world are you dead because a team fired 2 awful shots at your goalie in 4 seconds and now he can't standup because his stamina is gone? They somehow have the same bugs from 2014 but with new ones added in. Games still freeze in World of Chel so you either quit or wait hours for the other team to quit. You still can't pick a position or loadout in some lobbies. The dropin search times are insane. The RP system is still awful. You can love the game all you want but you are in the minority. Take a look at the reviews of the game or any site talking about it and you will find the same.I bet you trolls would never say half the crap you spew on here to an EA NHL developers face. Probably start shaking and walk away, then go on to type up more tirades against them online after you get home. These people are trying to make an honest living and pour their blood, sweat & tears into this franchise year after year for keyboard warriors to bully, harass, ridicule & make a mockery of it. This is a great game, the way they've utilized AI to create a realistic game environment is other worldly! I remember back in the 90's playing games with 8bit graphics and now we're playing games that look like real life hockey. Maybe you guys have never played actual hockey so you wouldn't understand the feel, but playing a game of CHEL brings me back to my days on the outdoor rink as a teenager. The all new Pressure System adds another element of realism to the game, where you actually feel the fatigue when you're hemmed in your own zone; or the adrenaline of controlling the puck in the offensive zone. But the haters have never played hockey in real life so they wouldn't know.
The customization brings to life all of your ideas, and the creativity goes far beyond the aesthetics now. With the all new Total Control system you're able to finally pull off the moves your favorite NHL players like Trevor Zegras do. I guess some of you guys just aren't skilled enough to pull them off so you hate on the people that do and want to revert to the days of ancient games. The all new cinematic individual player goal celebrations are just the cherry on top! Maybe if you spent half the time you spent complaining about this game on here and developed a game yourself you'd make a better one. LOL, good luck with that. These guys are the best in the business, there's a reason 2K couldn't compete. The best have the most haters, and that's how it's always been. This is a great game! I love what they did with HUT and World of Chel! And I bet half of the people leaving all these hate comments are still playing it because deep down they know this game is a masterpiece and a true feat of human ingenuity.

Edit: I also forgot to mention when you take a timeout because of full pressure and instead of it working, you just get a full period of full pressure and your players can get any stam or skate. YEAH, SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
LOL, you certainly got me. I thought you had to be working for EA or were the biggest fan boy of life. Thanks for the laughs hahahahah. My post was satire lol
Just scored yesterday with Adrian Kempe coming down the wing and a snapshot from the dots. It feels it's more rare than earlier though (playing with AlTito's sliders on All-Star).Am i the only one who can’t score on direct shots at all? Literally feels impossible to beat the keeper clean with wristers or snapshots.
It’s very boring to score the same goals time and time again.

That’s extremely weird, considering the consensus online seems to be that variety in goals scored is absolutely terrible atm. Pretty much 80% of my goals are breakaways, the remaining 20% consists of tips and backpost tap ins. Eki, the NHL world champ complained about the exact same thing, and how not being able to beat the goalie clean has forced everybody to try scoring the exact same way. This is a strange complaint because for me, by far the biggest success of this year's game is that you don't see the same damn goals over and over again.
You can play a game where the score is 4-3 and all the goals were scored in different ways. One was a clean slap shot, one was a tip in, one was a breakaway deke, one was a screen shot, one was off a rebound, one was a quick shot from the top of the slot, etc.
It used to take 30 or 40 games to possibly see seven different kind of goals.

In the latest patch they even addressed the issue with not being able to beat the goalie clean, and it’s still just as impossible, i’m on my 3rd season in franchise mode and i don’t think i’ve seen either CPU or me score with a quick shot from the top of the slot.
Franchise mode, but the same applies to every mode for me. Also i’m not giving up breakaway goals, i’m the one scoring them. The poke check is literally the reason why they’re so easy to score, when the goalie goes for the poke check he drops to his knees and leaves half the net open on the backhand side. That's absolutely bizarre.
I literally just wrapped up a game of 3's, we won 4-3 in OT and three of the seven goals were clean shots to beat the goaltender.
What is particularly surprising about what you're saying is the claim that 80 percent of the goals are breakaways. Last year and the last few years, I would say breakaways and penalty shots along with cross crease goals made up probably 80 percent if not more. This year, the goaltenders poke check must more effectively and a lot of the dekes that were money in the bank have been severely nerfed.
What mode are you playing in where 80 percent of the goals are breakaways? How are you giving up so many breakaways in the first place? That sounds really odd.
Franchise mode, but the same applies to every mode for me. Also i’m not giving up breakaway goals, i’m the one scoring them. Clean shot never beats the goalie unless it’s the same glitch goal that has existed since the skill stick was first introduced: when you simply skate from behind the net and shoot on the opposite side of the goal. Otherwise it’s not going in, if you go shortside it’s off the goalies helmet or shoulder everytime, if you go gloveside it’s getting caught everytime.
Sliders, difficulty etc. barely has any impact on it, even the ”snappy” and ”shnipe” X-factors are basically useless in 24 due to it.
