You are better off just playing 23, hardly any gameplay changes have been made. The real issue with the gameplay is AI players doing outright stupid things for no reason.

I played 23. It was terrible. I played the playtest for 24 and it is substantially different compared to 23 lol.

And it will change again once EA puts out their first patch or two.. always does.. and rarely for the better.

Apparently they really nerfed the L2 backwards skating which was murder to defend against online. That alone makes a huge difference to gameplay.

They confirmed in the EA forums that you can't hide the pressure meter but "the feedback is passed to the team". Yeah pretty sure they discussed that already and for some reason thought it's ok to not allow to hide it.

No the fact that nhl games do absolutely horrible in sales is what prevents a good nhl game. Why would EA put the time and effort into a game thst sales just over 1 million copies?

This is too much of a change to be okay.I am ok with the pressure meter system but not going to like watching it EVERY game printed on the ice surface.Doing this kind of things must be an option to turn it off.If this is the direction the game is going maybe next year you can have your player blink in different colours when scores.

Why did they win the Best Sports Game award for NHL 14? I know why.. Because they tried. That game was excellent. Online or Offline.

What did EA do after 14? They got rid of the expanded customizations in CHEL and introduced that cookie cutter shit which appealed to the casual gamers, probably like yourself. 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, they're all copy/pasted garbage. Our club name was $60 Roster Update for a few seasons. There's a reason why this meme exists.

Because EA as a whole has enough money to take and put into projects to keep them afloat. But I agree, they won’t take to much money if the sales aren’t great. But they have enough sales to keep the game alive. Which isn’t hard when they have the same game since 2007

You don't think some of that might have something to do with the poor quality of the game leading to decreased sales?

Most of us are lapsed. The harsh reality is sports games aren't for us. It's not 2012 anymore.
every game is geared towards gacha pulls and pay to win.
offline modes neglected across the board.
even the once gold standard sports franchises MLB the Show and NBA 2K are not what they were.

Looks good, first time in a decade myself and all my buddies that play the game will be day 1 buyers and all are excited to play it. The changes to the gameplay itself all look great and none of us quite frankly give a single shit about the presentation side of the game. If it plays well, that's all that matters.
