Looks identical to 14 in terms of gameplay and AI. Much slicker in terms of visuals.

This is going to be a classic case of undersell/over-deliver by EA. They're gonna come out with triumphant announcenent declaring that all game modes are on the next gen consoles, and hope that we forget how little they changed (aside from presentation) from NHL '14.

I like your optimism

You can tell next to nothing from that new gameplay video, other than sticks being much less active when controlling the puck, looks awkward in an almost pre-skill stick way...

If NHL 15 is nhl 14 with better graphics and some other cool new display things, I would still be happy, and I'm sure most of you guys would be too. As much as we complained about NHL 14, it still has more good things about it and bad, which still makes it one of our favorite games

They're pulling the wool over our very own eyes. No actual game play footage, no news on modes or revamps to those modes. It's NHL 14 with a new coat of paint.

OH AND WE HAVE CROWDS NOW!!!!

Give me a break, EA. And shame on anyone who buys the BS.

Oh please, give me a ****ing break. The whining on these boards is absolutely ridiculous. I'm certainly gonna buy the game and I'm sure I'll enjoy it, because I've loved it in years past despite a couple gameplay drawbacks. If you're so discontent, don't buy the ****ing game! Just quit crying all the time; it makes it very difficult to read this thread.

I'd be happy with this too, I just them to get rid of the BS shortside goals and "snipes" that go in from every spot, every damn time.

The fact is that the team can't get the game right for the fans.

Group One: "We want coaches! NBC! New announcers! Authentic arenas!"
EA: "Alright, presentation has been improved!"

Group Two "Oh my god, who the hell cares about new crowd or announcers! We want new modes, the 3028492 different modes aren't enough, We want Be-A-Coach mode and Be-A-Trainer mode!"
EA: "Alright, you got it - Here are few new game modes for our new game!"

Group Three: "Stop putting in new game modes and support the old ones, and upgrade gameplay, nobody wants to play "Be-A-Fan" or watches the new arenas from instant replay - We want better gameplay!"
EA: "Alright, we've added collision engine and upgraded gameplay in general"
Groups 2 & 3: "Oh my god, it's the same f***ing game as last year! EA you just keep milking money from us with roster updates!"

I am not defending them or trying to be an apologist. But I don't think many of you understand that they can't keep adding ton of stuff every year. "But Fifa does it" isn't an argument - compare the popularity between the sports, it goes hand in hand with dev team sizes when it comes to NHL and Fifa games.

Movements certainly look better, though they always do in these videos before they turn out being the same thing.

Anyways, as said above, Caron on the PP? LOL.

I didn't expect many gameplay upgrades since they are switching over to next gen. I am hoping improvements come in 16

I've thought the same thing also at times. We go from being upset that GM mode didn't get upgraded to being ecstatic that EASHL and GMC remain in the game. Or at least I hope they remain.

You can't combine every person's argument into one. That isn't fair.

There is a lot of issues with the AI and immersion in general which holds the game back. One or two improvements doesn't change that.

Because he buys games that took a hell of a lot of effort to completely overhaul the graphics, render new and more accurate face models, update arenas, and put in a whole new announcer track? All while updating stats, overalls, potentials as usual? If you don't want the game, don't buy it but it's hard to refute that if you have a X1 or PS4 that this one is a must buy if you're into the series and have the means.

The NHL series is not as big of a seller as Madden and FIFA and it's asinine to expect that NHL gets as much attention or funding as those games get and, as as result, the team in Burnaby is much smaller. I personally think they did pretty well for updating everything and overhauling everything in a years time with what they had to work with. If you disagree, then fine but don't lambaste people for being excited for a game.

If the NHL series was as big as Fifa or Madden they would be so above and beyond them

Technically, you're getting a longer game in the demo. Used to be a 5 minute 3rd period. Now it's a full game with three two-minute periods.

Still sucks they're not including HUT and stuff but yeah. Play now is a minute longer.

Won't matter much to me if there's no EASHL, wont be purchasing

Oh didnt know that. Thanks. Id still prefer the old style.

If there is no EASHL I'll be furious. Sadly I'll still buy it simply to have NHL for my one cause xbox doesnt let you play 14 on it. I cant imagine them stripping game modes tho. As for upgrades seems all we get is a presentation overhaul.

This.

Saying things like "shame on anyone who buys this BS" is just inflammatory and stupid. I'll buy the game because I love this series and always get a hell of a lot of enjoyment out of the games each year. Sure, they could do some things better, but I'm not gonna waste my time crying incessantly like many on this board do because they can't do everything. All it does it piss people off like me who read these boards to hopefully engage in reasonable conversation about the game without seeing every other comment be "oh EA sucks the NHL games always suck they can't do anything!".

I find the whole idea of that people shouldn't buy it is more of a sense of telling EA, "You take away our modes, you don't get money." As with Titanfall taking away modes on the PC, it will hurt sales by quite a lot. Plus, the idea of playing with friends online is basically gone then (not against friends, with friends).

This.

Sure id love more but who wouldnt.

Since I am a One owner its a must buy for me no matter what. Need my NHL fix and more games for my One. From what Ive seen I'm fine with it long as they didnt take any modes out. Gameplay looks a tad better from the whopping 3 min total ive seen from it.

NHL 16 I do expect to be kind of an overhaul tho.

I'm looking at this like NHL 07. NHL 08 was a huge improvement for 360.

I just wish they did tiny stuff tho ..Had every Jersey not same ones year in year out. Added mid season contract negotiations, better trades/drafts...LTIR and better roster management. Like no Savard on Bruins roster haha.

Let us have real arenas in HUT since they are authentic now. Like MUT has. Or at least let us pick a logo for center ice I hate that generic HUT one.

And for god sakes if you boast WC as a mode. Have the past ones. The ONE discs have more space tiny **** like this should be no big deal.

Thats the stuff that gets me. Yeah sure id love game play over hauls but that ain't so simple.
