They have had a SB caliber team on both sides of the ball now for the past 5 years or more. They're O line has been one of the best in Football for years also.. And like that other poster said Jerry Jones absolutely loves his Cowboys..Actually Texas is a football crazed state.

Disagree with the idea that the Pokes have had a SB caliber team on both sides of ball for the last 5 years.

On offense, they have had the talent, but a lot of injuries to key guys. I went back 5 years and this is the first season that DAL has even been in the top half for total D and or scoring D.

That's like the Habs beating the Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Finals and a Bruins fan loving it.
Agreed. 8 years in a row, breaking the record set by the LA Rams' NFC West record from 1973-1979. I think the 08-16 Pats are the best NFL team since divisional play again. I'm really looking forward to them whipping traditional NFL powerhouses such as the Steelers, Raiders, and Cowboys in the playoffs/SB and Brady getting his fifth ring.

Yeah... They made the playoffs once in the last 6 seasons, where they should have lost the wild card game to Detroit before losing - Cowboys fans will probably argue they should've won - to Green Bay, who then went on to lose to Seattle in a game they definitely should have won, only for Seattle to lose to the Pats (and we all know most Seattle fans don't view that as a Pats win as much as a Bevell loss)

I'll say this, there is one team that NE doesn't want to play in the SB and that is the NY Giants.

How much turnover does there have to be before we're not worried about the Giants. Just because the uniforms don't change, doesn't mean they scare me more than Seattle.

Loved when the broadcasters mentioned how Josh McDaniels told the offensive players who didn't play against the Broncos in last year's AFC Championship game to stand up, and when 2/3 of the offense stood up, he said this isn't a rematch. It's a new game, new team. And that game was last season. The Giants Super Bowls are ancient history.

The only coach in the NFL that owned Bill Belichick is Tom Coughlin.

Coughlin is a strange dude and he turned down a chance to coach the Giants in 1993 because he wanted another crack at Lou Holtz and Notre Dame in 1993. ND had run up the score against BC in 1992 and Coughlin seethed. He got even in 1993.

Good memory. That ******** Lou Holtz ran a fake punt up 54-7 in the game you're talking about.

and that BC win was the week after ND beat #1 FSU. BC ruined national title hopes for ND. The Irish tears were delicious.

Close.....The Eagles are my most hated NFL team, with the Pats a close second, and then Giants and Skins.

Yes those games are ancient history. But I have to say. That defence they have is nasty. No way Seattle holds Dallas to 7pts and Detroit to 6 back to back weeks. But that said anything can happen vs any team. One game at a time.

So now it's two weeks in a row that two teams get essential slaps on the wrist for the same crimes the Patriots committed. Kraft should feel like an *******, he went to bat for his BFF Goodell yet it's clear that the league doesn't respect him like they do the Marra and Rooney clans.

Brady, Hightower, McCourty and Slater all selected as Pro Bowl starters, for whatever that's worth. Brady on an eight year streak, Slater on a six year streak. Hightower debuts and McCourty returns as a free safety after having been chosen as a corner in 2010. Congrats!

Do people care that we're 7-0 on the road and 5-2 at home when thinking about trying to win to secure homefield or do people still want to go all out for home field?

And would anyone's answer be different if we suffered an injury to even a minor player against Miami last year and then lost at home to KC in the first round or Pittsburgh in the AFC Championship game?

Home games in January are different from home games in Sept and Oct. That's why I think home field is still important. My main takeaway from your stat is that I shouldn't be too worried if by some chance the Pats end up the #2 seed and have to play away for the AFCCG. (assuming they make it that far.)

Not to mention the one loss in which they didn't play an injured third string rookie, they played like **** and still came inches from taking it to overtime against a team you'd have to think they wouldn't have fared as well against on the road.

Shaunessy is sure arrogant.lol
Which team do you want the Patriots to face in the Super Bowl? (via http://ble.ac/teamstream-) http://teamstre.am/2hVmSzk

Sure, I feel fairly confident they will make it there unless they have a stinker. Say ~60%+ confident, bearing in mind that anything can happen. Having said that, if Montreal media put out an article like that about the Habs, I'd vomit.
Then again, **** fans of other teams.

I don't think anybody wants to go into Foxboro in January

I liked Woodrow Hamilton from the little I saw of him, seems like he's decent against the run. Would like to see him make it back to the PS

I like any guy who's named after two presidents.

I was going to point out that Hamilton was never president, but recalled a quora post I recently read that stated that he (made sure he) had arguably more power than the President during Washington's and Adams' terms. So I guess he could just as well have been the de facto president for those three terms. :)

DOH! As a history major, I should have known that. Can I still like the name?
