25th overall, the New York Football Giants select, Jordan Addison, WR, USC/Pitt

The Giants spent the money on Daniel Jones, but he has never had a reliable receiving core. Kadarius Toney was a huge bust for them (specifically, not necessarily for the Chiefs), Kenny Golladay is an all-time free agent bust, and they've otherwise have had a miserable time keeping the receivers that are actually worth a shit on the field. Plus, all of them have fairly limited upside which means Addison would have the most upside. Of course, this is assuming the quarterback is good enough to get them there.

With the real 27th overall pick in the NFL draft, the Bills will augment their linebacking corps and take Jack Campbell, University of Iowa

A fundamentally sound linebacker out of Iowa, standing at 6'5, 250, Campbell will provide the general in the middle the Bills defense needs.

29th overall, New Orleans Saints select Henry To'oTo'o, linebacker, Alabama

DeMario Davis has been an amazing free agent pickup by the Saints turning into a perennial All-Pro, but he's also 34, and the Saints have been needing to get younger on defense for some time. Really, they're fortunate they haven't been forced to make a move. Never opposed to drafting for down the line instead of immediate need, drafting To'oTo'o would give them a chance to have the two on the field together before taking over as the MIKE.

With the 31st overall pick, the Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs select a KC native Felix Anudike-Uzomah, EDGE from K-State. KC continues to get younger on defense and now has 3 capable edge rushers, all with upside. @Goalie_Bob you're up.

40th overall, New Orleans selects Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Alabama/Georgia

Alvin Kamara has impending legal issues, and it’s not like he’s getting younger, nor has he been productive in a post-Drew Brees world. Understandable given he quarterback play, but he only scored 4 touchdowns last year and 3 of them were in one game. Signing the league leader in touchdowns is nice, but Jamaal Williams has been in the league just as long and is primarily a red zone threat. Derek Carr still needs some help getting there though.

The Saints have been closely linked to running backs during draft season, so it seems probable they will end up with one. I could see them waiting for round 3 to do it, but if there is one they identify, they won’t chance it. 2 Alabama guys in 2 rounds will not make the LSU fans happy though.

41st overall, Tennessee selects Hendon Hooker, QB, Virginia Tech/Tennessee

Yes, this goes against most of what I’ve said about quarterbacks for years about needing to be on the field, not being heir apparents and whatnot, but Hooker’s ACL injury will have him on the shelf for most if not all of year 1 anyways, and if not for it, Hooker would be going top 10 in this draft. So to get him at 41 is well worth the risk and value. Wouldn’t shock me at all if someone moved up to round 1 to get him, in a perfect scenario, I would have. Nor would it shock me if he ended up being the best QB in the draft. A front office who believes that makes this an easy pick.

It is clear that the Titans new front office (the one that would’ve paid AJ Brown $100m) does not believe in Malik Willis, but with Hooker’s injury, Willis would still get the reps in OTA’s and training camp, so he will still be given a rope and they will see what he does with it. The Titans are going into a rebuild anyways, they can let this sort out. Willis being a bust is not Ran Carthon’s problem, but coming from the 49ers he knows all about QB depth. With any luck, he will be able to trade Tannehill to whichever team has their QB go down, and hopefully Hooker could play out the string.
