Dach can be a play driver. That's his strength through skating, puck-handling and distribution skills. Monahan would be a good offensive asset for Dach to exploit because Monahan can score.
I'd love to see Caufield with Dach though, could be a great fit.

Yeah they could be a good match for the reasons you mention.

But we don't know if Dach is ready to drive play at the NHL level and we don't know if Monahan is still an NHLer.

Dadonov - Suzuki - Anderson
Slafkovsky - Dach - Caufield
Hoffman - Dvorak - Gallagher
Pitlick - Evans - Armia
Drouin - Pezzetta

Matheson - Barron
Edmundson - Wideman
Harris - Savard

Allen
Montembault

Is gonna be ideal to be competitive for both a PO spot and a bottom-third finish.

So you think Mesar goes OHL?
I was wondering if the habs secretly want both Slaf and Mesar marinating together in the AHL where they can support each other on and off the ice

It's going to be interesting to see what happens...

I really hope our Xmen, Xhekaj and Simoneau, are in the AHL...

I'd play Eddie on the right, and make sure Matheson is comfortable on the Left before trying him on his off side...

I think Monahan should play wing, but take draws, if Dach is ready to be an NHL C aside from his faceoff woes.

I wanna see Evans in a 3rd line role this year. I feel like there is still some untapped offensive potential there, and his defensive game is already solid. At times I see a Plekanec-lite with him.

I'm hoping both he and Dvorak play great and they ship Dvo out for a nice return allowing Evans to slip into the 3C spot.

Monahan is more likely to play on the wing then Dach IMO. Dach is hopefully our long term but top 2 center so should be groomed there

There's a lack of ice-time right now.

Suzuki will get his ice-time for sure.
If you want to keep the value of Dvorak, he'll also need some ice-time.
Dach will need ice-time to develop

I'm not even talking about Monahan......so I don't think Evans will have that ice-time to improve to a 3rd line role.

Agreed, currently there is not enough TOI to spread around. That's why I said I hoped Dvorak would play well and set up for a trade, thus moving Evans up if he was playing well.

We're stupid deep at middle 6/bottom forwards right now, i'm hoping there's a way to move guys out to open up room for Evans to maybe move up. Have a soft spot for him. /shrug

I also always liked Evan's on a wing role in the top 9. He was great with Phil and Gally before the Scheifele incident.

I think there is a good chance Evans is on Monahan's wing. Doubt we are making any more trades at this point in time. Maybe in season in the 1st two months.

Many scenarios could play out, especially given Monahan will most probably not be the player he was pre injury.

It seems likely Monahan will be Eric Staal like, as in a shell of his former self. But even so, he may get more ice time than the young guys. At least that's what Ducharme did with the corpse of Eric Staal.
