If the Leafs can upset Washington we could get Claude in round 2

Sens boring - win

Montreal- Cassidy > Claude- win

Pens- no letang & Marchand > Crosby- win

Blackhawks- Stafford in place of Daugevens- win

****ing Cup !!!!!

Goddammit don't you know you're never supposed to mention open net Daugavins again on this board?

I watched that Daugevans video 100 times just thinking like the movie Ground Hog Day he would shoot it in the net

Playoff series with the Senators should be a good one. Look forward to it. Hope the Bruins are ready for it physically. They need to be harder to play against. Do that and they have a chance.

Not so sure I can agree with 'good.' Guy Boucher hockey is AWFUL, absolutely AWFUL to watch. Only saving grace is that their fanbase is probably one of the better ones to interact with. Good bunch....but they are stuck with the scourge of hockey that is Scarface.

I think the Leafs will make it a much more interesting series against the Caps than the B's would've.

Yup, the Maple Leafs will hopefully make it interesting with all of that speed. I'm also looking forward to the media fiasco if (when?) Wilson or Ovie does something borderline and there is a Leaf being helped off the ice. Capitals be warned: it's all fun and games until the Canadian media loses its mind - we speak from experience.

Now that we know we are playing the Sens, count me in the "sign McAvoy to his ELC" crowd. If you can make it through the Sens with McAvoy, and Krug and Carlo come back for round 2 (or before), who knows how far they go.

It depends for me. If Carlo is back, do you still want to sign and bring McAvoy up?
I'll be onboard with either decision.

Leafs defense is not good enough, they will get destroyed by Washington. I'm going to give the Leafs one game and say Washington in 5.

Although I don't think the Leafs have a real good chance at actually beating the Caps in a seven game series, I do think they could be more competitive against Washington than the B's simply because their forwards have more speed and scoring touch then the Bruins.

...and there's a good chance they'll get a few more PP's against Washington then the Bruins would.

Was not looking forward to playing the Caps so glad that didn't happen. The Sens will be hard enough to beat but at least there is a chance.

With the smurfs
Goal differential:

Wsh: +83
Ott: -2
Bos: +22

And some wanted the Bruins to play Wsh instead of Ott...

Bring on Ott. The only team with less goals scored than allowed in the playoffs!

Thank you Clb! :handclap:

In before it turn ugly. Never had anything bad to say about the Bruins. I'm actually a fan with all the ties with the Ottawa region over the past 10 years (Julien, Chara, Ryder, Krejci, Kelly).

No disrespect I rather face the Bruins than the Leafs just as I know you guys prefer facing Ottawa than Washington.

Here's to a good series.

Classy :handclap:

Same to you guys.

Sit the slow grinders like Hayes, Moore, & Beleskey. Play the quickest skating lineup possible. No stretch passes. Carry the puck straight at the trap. Make short, quick passes to players in full stride. Tuukka will need be great too. They can run Ottawa out of the rink if the Bruins play aggressive.

Bruins versus Senators has the potential to be the most boring 7 game series you have ever seen. But at least we have a chance.

Toronto vs Washington, as a hockey fan, that's going to be fun to watch. I can't wait for playoff hockey to start, there are so many good games! So many great matchups. Boston versus Ottawa is not one of them, however.

And to your point, I don't think signing the ELC is the right move. Playoff hockey will be fun, but this is not really our window.

My blood is already boiling thinking about Burrows

It's a little easier to cope when you know that your rage is nothing compared to the agony of knowing you're going up against Marchand.

It was bad enough when he was a 20-25 goal, 50-55 point scorer. Now he's a PPG, 40-goal scoring monster that does all the same ****.

They better have a good plan for the 1-3-1. That's gonna be the key to this series. If they can consistently beat it we will be fine. If not it's going to be boring.

Both teams are hurting on D. Both have hot goalies. I expect a long series. Would love mothing more than to face Claude in the next round.

I think the Sens ...boring game ... is a whole bunch of sour grapes.

Bet it would be a whole lot more exciting if the Bruins ended up on the right side of the score board.
