Just ran across this from a Seravalli interview with Jarvis.

Q: What's one rule change you'd make?

A: "Interview the refs after the game, 'cuz there is some stuff that needs to be asked sometimes."

Preach, young-un, preach!
How long would it take for referees to say the same cliches in the interviews like most of the players?

- We have to play full 60 minutes
- We have a great team
- You just have stick to the gameplan/system
- The crowd was great
- Gotta get pucks on the ice and keep our eyes open

Etc.

I got to imagine the last one would take a while for the refs to use...

spittin chicklets had Bunting on "today". Weirdly it was an interview done after our first road trip in October.

Bunting is a good story of perseverance and overcoming not getting a lot of attention.

He fully embraces his playing style and having that punchable face.
He wasnt given an offer by Toronto this off-season. He had some other offers July 1st but the call from Rod to discuss his role helped with our offer. he wanted to go to the winner.
Bunting was interested in our playing style.

Volleyball was his 2nd favorite sport. he got a red card once for chirping a dude during a game.

Spitting Chicklets group of hosts had the same review of us they have had for a while. Good but not good enough.

I believe the exact context of the embracing his role was Biz asking him if he was always such a piece of shit on the ice and Bunting responding, uh yeah.

I'll probably check the skills out for the new gimmick they're going with. But it is funny they try to insist on having guys named to the All Star team because every team's fanbase needs a reason to watch, but then they switch up the Skills format to keep the majority of guys out of it. I guess the upside is the players will hopefully care a little more in this format and they are somewhat marketing some big time stars with it.

So Aho isn’t even in the skills competition, even though he’s won the accuracy shooting before and is pretty much as fast as everyone else there save McDavid? What a dumb f*** concept (for fans of anyone but Canadian teams and Colorado).
That’s ok….more rest and perhaps won’t get injured the way svetch did after the AS Game

Honestly I do think Aho is one of those NHLers who just tries to outwork players and outsmart them. He wasn't blessed with a Kucherov elite vision or a Stamkos elite shot, particularly imposing frame, or even elite skating. He thinks the game overall better than most NHLers and is more tenacious than most. Reminds me a touch of Crosby in that he does a lot of things well and also has a grinder kind of mentality, even though a lot of parts of his game are different. He fits the team perfectly as a 1C under Brind'Amour, as I don't think a lesser working but more skilled Aho would do as well as the focal point of the team's offense.
