should be fun. I saw one of the russian skaters a few years ago land some of those quad jumps up close and personal, and man it really showed me that figure skaters are some of the best damn athletes in the entire world. Really incredible athleticism and they have to do the artsy aspects of it too. Underappreciated sport

I don’t really know how they judge figure skating now but from what I understand the origin of it was drawing shapes (figures) in the ice with your blades, and that always seemed like a cooler aspect to focus on than like the dance element, to me at least
