This has nothing to do with the money, but I feel my son should be paid more for his character and love of the game.
Wait... that`s what you got from that article? He says his son shouldn`t be paid less. Makes it sound like they want him to take a discount, actually. Nobody knows the specifics though.

His English must be ehh, but still, that much is clear.

Wow, talk about a quick trigger pull.

Ducks extend Fasth for $5.8 over 2 years.
He of 8 NHL games played.

Edit - This will probably wind up being a pretty solid deal in the long run. I'd still want to see more games out of him. Safe over sorry and such.

Seriously - what is the benefit from signing him this quick? He can't do any better so his value won't go up much if at all - and that would only be from a dominating playoff run.

Knee jerk excitement. Could have waited for him to come down to earth a little and save a mil or two.

Now I bet we see a bunch of people talking about how we're in on Hiller. Just like all the people and ''Insiders'' claiming we're in on Luongo despite two goalies with no trade clauses!

People are saying he's a FA at the end of the year and the better he does, the more his price tag goes up. It still feels quick, but it might show that the Ducks are uneasy about Hiller's future.

For what it's worth, Brian O'Reilly has some sort of learning disability that makes it difficult for him to write/type out a manifesto like that.

But still...I agree with Jim. No good was gonna come of what is essentially a cash grab. I'm starting to sour on him, too. The difference with Turris was that Phoenix kept trading and signing average players to play that second line center spot, and Turris kept getting relegated to 3rd line duty. He felt he deserved a chance for more responsibility and wasn't getting it, and I always felt Phoenix was trying to hold him back so they wouldn't have to pay as much for him down the road.

That's all speculation, but there's less and less of that going around with ROR as more info comes out. Maybe he SHOULD go to the Rangers...

It's insane compared to the contract the Blues gave Brian Elliott last year when he was further along his breakout season. Then again, he wanted starter money (or close to it) before forgoing FA, and the Ducks have clearly given him the starting job.

So today's the day this finally happens:

Buffalo Sabres ‏@BuffaloSabres
Darcy Regier announced this afternoon that Lindy Ruff has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the Buffalo Sabres. More to follow.

lol one Sabres fan I know recently compared him to Andy Reid (good coach in one place for too long and never got over the hump). Now they have something else in common - getting fired barely two months apart.

I predicted this over the Summer. That if they start sucking again Lindy is gone mid season, or after the season at the latest. This is not shocking to me whatsoever.

I also said if Lindy does indeed not get canned if they suck this year that he won't ever get canned.

Half a decade too late, if you ask me.

Also, in news that will go completely under the radar thanks to that firing, Florida called up Markstrom.

You don't say? What happened to Scott Clemmensen ''The best backup in the league next to Schneider?'' At least that's what people were calling him last year!:laugh::laugh:

Lindy Ruff is a good coach but this is long overdue. Hopefully Darcy goes next.

After so many ho hum seasons there I'm surprised he was kept around as long as he was. He will have no problem getting another job though. I can see another team that's in a bind firing their coach soon enough since he's now become available. Kinda like Anaheim did to Carlyle last year after Boudreau became available. It only took like three days there.

Want my prediction on where he ends up? Not being an expert on Garth, and Crapuano's relationship I can almost see him ending up on the Island. Minnesota will be relieving Yeo if the wiLOLd get out of control too I think. There's already been talk about it.
