Technically he's making a pro-rated 6.5M plus a pro-rated 1M, and then next year makes a full 6.5M (or a bought out portion, not sure how amnesty works) + whatever he gets from a team. Redden made out like a bandit. By getting bought out, he makes even more money. And the catch is he blows. He's laughing all the way to the bank.

Maybe more guys should start sucking on purpose, get bought out, then make even more money once they sign with a different team

I know this is probably tough for a lot of people here to watch, but really EVERY NHL season should start this way, with the banner raising game as a stand-alone instead of the goofy overseas games (you can still play them obviously).

Finally is hockey back can't tell you guys how happy I am, sitting home in my home country of Denmark and waiting for the games to begin. Hope everybody on the board will have a great night and season. Can't tell how many hours/days I used on the devils board reading about our team, prospects, trades, and just hockey in general.
