DEVILS ALL THE WAY*

Roman Cervenka heading to the KHL. Here's funny quote...

Mike Halford ‏@HalfordPHT 12m

Cervenka's memories of his one and only NHL season: "Lockout, 48 games in 99 days, and my team traded away all the good players at the end."

So Torres gets suspended for the rest of the 2nd round of the playoffs. Ignoring whether a suspension is warranted or not, isn't it ridiculous that Shanny can't even assign a number to this suspension?

It seems crazy that he says the proper suspension for this specific case is between 3-6 playoff games and he can't tell us yet which number will be used.

Would you expect anything less from someone with authority in the NHL? I'm still not sure if he makes these rules or if it's a committee so I won't rip him for it.

That sucks for the Sharks cause he was a solid pick up, but he wasn't really producing much other than that OT winner against the Canucks.

Shanahan is such a joke and the way he validates his decisions via a video setup is even more hilarious. He looks completely clueless when he tries to validate his pov.

I've asked this question a million times, but nobody knows.

Does Shanahan make the decisions himself? Or is it a committee or group of people? Like a board of governors for discipline or something?

I'm guessing he has a staff of people who go over all the material with him, But I'm pretty sure the final decision is his.

Then yeah he's an ass if that's true.

So many inconsistencies too. Just like the NHL's officiating, and the Buttman, and whoever made the decision on the Kovy contract.

If I were Shanny I would have a staff of people who are experts in the individual aspects of these things. I would have a medical expert, A former official, Maybe someone who's an expert in Kinetics (He talks allot about motion and angles in those videos) and probably another former player. I would compile all the info and make a decision from that.

They'd never do that. That takes the fun out of all this inconsistent BS!

There is a video on NHL.com that steps through the review process, but yes, he gets input from a number of people and discusses what they see in the video and debate what happened. In the end it is his call but he discusses his decision and let's others comment before delivering his decision.

Alright thanks. It's much like what we see from the NHL's zebra crews then. Inconsistent rulings.

While appearing on a D.C. radio show with Chad Dukes and LaVar Arrington, Adam Oates was asked if he could beat up John Tortorella. The Capitals coach responded, via Adam Gretz of CBSSports.com. "Yes. Easily."
