softies at his age? he's not even close to 40 nor had a torn bicep tendon or pinched nerve in his back from lifting 3 cups. What's his excuse?

The stats would suggest MAF has been better than fatso the last 3 years posting 918, 913, and 916 save percentages. It really doesn't matter that fatso had a better playoffs last year because that's just cherry picking stats. MAF is an above average goaltender in this league period.:sarcasm: Brodeur hasn't even been better than Jose Threeorfour.

Can someone explain to me how this is any different from Bernier Game 6?

roarhit_zpsed8c657f.gif

I don't think Regehr was locked into him from center ice on the way Bernier was, that made the Bernier play worse than your average run of the mill check along the boards gone awry.

The Blues player was in a vulnerable position whereas Scuderi last year turned into the boarding? Meaning this one was a penalty and Bernier's wasn't?

Bernier's was definitely a penalty. It shouldn't have been a major though, especially in that spot, early in a potential deciding game. At worst a double-minor. At best single-minors canceling out with the Stoll hit.

oh man Montreal is done. I mean they were already but now they're really done. Poor Gio. Can't stand that he ran off with our money, but this is a tough injury to be dealing with he's clearly concerned about his career with the rarity of the injury. sad hate seeing careers ended early.

He looked locked in there with his back to him the entire way.
Scuds turned into it and knew what he was trying to draw.

RT @RenLavoieRDS: Michel Therrien:"our captain was crying in my arms when he learned he could not play anymore."

Poor Gio

Wow, that really sucks. Poor guy. Also, isn't Therrien a bit of a dick for publicising it like this?

Exactly, but some of it is MAF too. He lets softies on as well. Pitt isn't winning crap until they address their team D though.

That's why I laughed when they loaded up on forwards at the deadline. Murray wasn't going to improve their defence either.

Not 100% sure but I think any boarding call that results in blood is an automatic major.

I don't think it should have been a call at all. If Scuderi doesn't turn last second, it's literally a standard forecheck hit.

i dont think it matters to people who play sports if someone else mentions how emotional they are for such a reason.

i cried like a child when i thought i my playing days were over due to knee and i only play just under the umbrella of the ontario soccer league at well.......'an advanced age'

(turns out to be not too serious and im raging to rip up another season)

i dont have a problem with therrien's comment

I've said all year the Pens would have trouble with faster teams. they are slow overall, especially on D.

That has been their problem for several years now

Pressure them, challenge them, play physical against them and you'll have a good chance against em - pretty much how the Flyers got by them last year

According this article (couldnt find the TSN article it was based on)

Teemu Selänne and Thomas Steen made a wager in early 1990 of $1 000 000. Selänne said that he will only play 3 max 4 years in NHL and leave for Europe after that time has passed. Steen made a wager with him that he will still be in NHL after 4 years, and according to Steen it was of $1 000 000. Selänne says that there was such a bet but it wasnt that big. The article doesnt say whether Teemu ever paid Steen.

#Habs Brandon Prust had a rib separate from its cartilage during Game 4. Left OT in extreme pain, pushed rib back in himself. Story coming

i can't hold back the laughs.

it's really sad, but funny at the same time.

I am an advocate for fighting in hockey. I would hate to see it taken away from the Pro game. That being said, any fights at whatever level this must be is a complete embarrassment to the sport. It was funny to see them try to act like the big boys they must watch on tv.
