When the player has no interest in the playing for you, well, doesn’t matter what assets you have or their quality.

I just think he went all money on the tax advantaged front and also maybe the Dundon/Tulsky thing wasn’t that appealing to him.

I always appreciate your posts, and think you offer a very balanced, but deep analysis that is often not reflective of the hyperbole in the age of social media. But from my recollection of reports during that time, Stone was going to find a way on VGK no matter what.

I honestly don't feel that having Brannstrom would've have changed the Isles ability of acquiring Stone. In fact, if we chase the notion of "what if." What if the Isles had drafted Brannstrom, would...
  • They still be in a position to even draft Dobson the following year?
  • Ottawa insisted on Dobson over Brannstrom?
  • The Isles be short Nelson and Dobson, but have Stone and Brannstrom?
  • VGK have selected Nelson, then traded him as the principle part for Stone?

I know there’s a lot of hate for him here but I always liked him. I was also frequently disappointed in him. That’s that’s a good signing for Dumbass in my book.

Yep, and couch cushion foam cut to size, wrapped in duct tape, and old belts inserted thru incisions to attach the pads to the goalie's legs.
