On the Shesty topic: He’s also a punk and an embellisher. I hate that shit and it’s even worse coming from a Rags player. I’ll refrain from commenting on the occasional cheap shot he gives out. After all, I go back to the days of Billy Smith so….
There’s no honor among thieves :D

Jarry is not that good.
Love that signing. No one was going to sign Jarry to 5 year deal or anything close to that as a UFA. The guy had a below .900 in the playoffs and a .911 in his career. Yet, Dumbo signed him to a FIVE year deal all on his own. What a genius.

Pretty impressive how BOS continues to find diamonds in the rough and get production from their bottom six year in and year out.

I know it’s early but the Preds look lost. Maybe the team needs time to jell with all the new acquisitions. Time will tell.

Long season, but lots of roster turnover takes time in a team dependent sport. The EDM reporter earlier in the week mentioned that the roster turnover in EDM had been overlooked and is having an impact.

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe Nash messed with their roster too much?

Is it time to check in on the Islanders fans who were pissed we didn’t let Trotz take over as GM?

Nashville is old and expensive with a lot of awful contracts. They’re 0-5. Even if they turn it around they have a very short window. Just brutal.
always thought he would be Lou 2.0 as a GM

One could say a similar thing about the Islanders

You cannot. The Predators have the following:

Forsberg (30) @ 8.5M until age 35
Stamkos (34) @ 8M until age 38
Marchessault (33) @ 5M until age 38
O’Reilly (33) @ 4.5M until age 36

Josi (34) @ 9M until age 38
Skjei (30) @ 7M until age 37

Saros (29) @ 7.7M until age 38

And they have a ton of buyout money on the books from some very bag signings.

But they have a tax advantage, so says Barry.

We also have some not good contracts and our "window" is probably another 2-3 years given our lack of prospects and even than our "window" is hoping we squeeze in a wild card

Lately the theme is don’t loom at Lou’s mistakes when there are other GMs to be ragged on.

Sadly, this makes me feel better about Lou’s decisions.

Our primary problem remains the lack of high end talent. In prior years I used to obsess about this with our forwards though frankly I think our meh defense may now be our weakest link.

1.) I think Nashville turns it around that is a lot of new pieces for immediate success.

2.) I still think it would have made sense for Lou to have Trotz as next in line if Trotz was willing to wait. I do not believe he was willing to wait over Nashville though.
