Could be, it doesn’t seem like there’s animosity. More like he wants to be the highest paid guy on the team. I think he’s right based on their salary structure and individual performances.

He's been better than Sorokin the last couple years and it's reasonable for him to want to be the team's highest paid player. I predict he comes in at 8 x 12M per.

I know you have to pay your homegrown stars and of course goaltending is key to winning and going far in the NHL playoffs. Despite that, he has won nothing and don’t forget he looked like crap in the first half of last season.

Does he deserve a big contract? Indeed he does but I’m glad the AAV is going to be extremely high and this deal has the potential to be an albatross for the Rags in a few years. Fingers crossed.

He is without a doubt an elite/franchise tier goalie and all things considered he is probably worth the contact he wants... but yea the rangers aren't winning the cup if they give igor 12 million
