The east has become an incredible Juggernaut of about 6 teams who could all go the distance, the Islanders are not one of those teams.

With all of the 1st-2nd round picks given up by our division rivals the past few weeks, it feels like the Isles have an opportunity to own the division in 5 years if we were to just start recouping some assets and accepting the fact we will not be able to truly compete in this conference anymore. We need an infusion of young talent via the draft in coming seasons badly.

Really hope Lou flips a few players to contenders before friday to recoup some of the picks that we've lost. the writing is on the wall, however, I doubt that ends up happening.

I'd say the Chychrun trade answers your question. Thought they'd be formidable this season... next season they'll be even better. Doing it all without Norris this season as well.
