Detroit got smoked by Ottawa tonight in regulation. Let's hope the same thing happens again while the Islanders find a way to beat Minnesota and rest up before the big four game stretch heading out of the trade deadline.

I was debating taking off of work for the trade deadline before the closing of my house would force me to take off the following week.... That being said I do not think I would even take off with all of these trades happening before the deadline.

Did you watch it? That 2nd period was the most rock 'em sock 'em stanza of hockey I've seen in a LONG time. Ottawa will be solidified playoff contender next season I feel

Yep, Beau is producing. Small sample size, honeymoon effect. I gave Canuck fans a scouting report on him (and Raty); at the time of the trade I still felt like he could be a middle-tier 2nd liner. He needed to stabilize his confidence. Perhaps he's done that in VCR. With that said, he's also playing with more talent and on a team that is full of offense.

That's it? Didn't their owner just say they're more committed to winning now than ever before? What's the follow up move?
I actually like this move for the Canes. He's a good forechecker and although he can't score, plenty of other guys on that team can. He'll help with zone possession.

It's more about how it lines up with what was said publicly by the team and how it matches up against every other team making moves right now.

I live in Raleigh and on sports radio here, Dundon said last week that although they'd like to make several moves, it comes down to budget/Cap space/deal parameters and that there is a likelihood that no moves would be made, but that they are trying.
